Hi, I just spoke to the owners - they've retired, so it's no longer available, as it seems like a really nice spot! I hope to find somewhere else close to Newgrange, hopefully in the Donore, or Dulleek area.

The only bad thing I can say about Roughgrange Farm B&B is that it doesn't have a great internet presence. However, it's well worth a little extra digging to find and book. We three retired couples loved it. It is probably the only B&B with a direct view of the Newgrange tomb. A stay here would be worthwhile for that... More

We overnighted in a nicely decorated bedroom, enjoyed a superb breakfast, and interacted with interesting hosts and guests. We also easily adjusted to the rural setting. Perhaps our feeling of remoteness was enhanced by the absence of wi-fi. Within sight of Newgrange, Roughgrange Farm provided a superb location from which to tour additional sites within the River Boyne region including... More

Very convenient location for visiting Newgrange sites. Farm looks across valley at Newgrange - lovely with early morning mist on the River Boyne. Very welcoming hosts, great breakfast. Quiet, large room, slightly dated but perfectly comfortable.

We asked for standard double room, we got a HUGE family room that can sleeps 4 people. Shower was great, there was coffee/tea maker. The room is a little outdated but very clean. We had a view to NewGrange site. After the great breakfast, Irene made a reservation for us to Bruin-a-Boin (Newgrange). It was a nice stay.

The ideal place to stay for visitors to Newgrange (about 20 minutes walk or a few minutes drive)- and pretty wonderful even if you aren't! The farm is very peacefuland quiet and set in rolling green countryside. We had very spacious and comfortable rooms and a magnificent breakfast. Irene and Jim were welcoming, friendly and helpful. As we were travelling... More

This place truly gave us our greatest taste of real Ireland. Jim and Irene were genuine, sweet, hard working people who made us feel right at home. After settling in, we met Jim tending to the 800ish sheep and the familys working dogs. We then enjoyed a beautiful walk in their feild away from the maddening bustle of tourists and... More

Irene was very helpful in getting us tickets both Newgrange and Knowth sites and also for other information. The room was very sweet and comfortable with a nice shower. Their dogs, Pennie and Minne, were very sweet and loving.

Our last night in Ireland was spent as this quaint working sheep farm. Penny, the dog, was very welcoming upon our arrival. Irene was an excellent host and happily made discount arrangements for Knowth and Newgrange for our family the next morning. Views of Newgrange were spectacular from the twin rooms and outdoor garden, quiet sleep was had by all,... More
