We had booked in for one night to experiehepatic mountain park area.
We couldn't find the hotel, and later we discovered that there are two roads with the same name, and our GPS could only find the incorrect road.
We 'phoned the hotel and could get no information out of them whatsoever. We tried English, German and French, but the staff only speak Italian. We could actually hear the hotel staff in the background laughing about our predicament.
Eventually we found a kind lady in a B&B in the centre of town who drew a map for us to find the Edelweiss. It turns out that the hotel is +- 2km out of town.

We've just stayed at the Edelweiss. We booked it based on the good reviews here, a reasonable price and the fact that it looked like it was in the centre of Pescasseroli on Google maps. The Google maps pointer was in fact wrong, and the hotel is just outside town. It's not far, maybe a km, but the street it's on is a bland strip development, and we'd hoped we'd be in the old, more convenient centre of Pescasseroli.

If you're driving the extra distance isn't a problem, but we arrived by bus so had the extra walk. We were visiting Pescasseroli to do some summer hiking, and after a long hike, we didn't exactly want the extra walk in and out of town to visit bars and restaurants. I suspect Edelweiss is a better bet if you're visisting for a winter skiiing trip and are happy to just stay there for dinner etc.

Still, our welcome was warm, and the staff were always friendly They even offered to give us a lift to the bus stop on our final morning.

On the downside...
