A pleasure to come back here - for another celebration with our family. Comfortable accommodation and excellent food with matching wines. The breakfast was good as well. We often find in Michelin starred restaurants that they put the B team out to cook and serve breakfast, with a noticeable drop off in standards - not here - it was fine...

During our recent two day stay my wife and I decided to try one of the courtyard rooms. Our room, number 18 was a duplex with a very comfortable lounge on the ground floor and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Although very well appointed we found the accommodation a little claustrophobic as there is effectively no view outside either upstairs...

Booked this as a two night stay with one tasting menu and one a la carte The location and setting of hotel are great. As a hotel it's very good, rooms are good and breakfast was ok. However, we were slightly disappointed by the evening meals. I won't go on about service but it isn't welcoming and almost a military...

An interesting one. Plenty is written - correctly - about the wonderful location, so no need to repeat that. I came with two very good friends - one from Sydney, the other from London. We do not get together a lot, so we try to do something good when it does happen. My observations are: Service: Patchy. Courteous and formal rather...

We visited the lovely Yorke Arms for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and watch the fantastic Tour of Yorkshire which passed the front door!! The Yorke Arms is a traditional building set in the most amazing valley, it is an oasis of peace and quiet, you will only be woken by the sound of bird song or a...

Read some of my other reviews - I am proud of my honesty and fairness, and I am completely comfortable with paying good money for nice places. The Yorke Arms, then, booked several months ago, and told by many that we'd love it. In a beautiful setting, and with a lovely frontage and backdrop, in the Nidderdale AONB, we were...

The Yorke Arms is a beautiful 18th century coaching house and shooting lodge located in Ramsgill in the Nidderdale Valley. The location is at least a 40 minute drive from any major town and the drive though the Yorkshire Dales takes you past the most amazing and outstanding countryside with natural beauty that would be hard to beat anywhere else...

Very polite, efficient service with top drawer food and wine. The decor is a little olde world (or traditional if you prefer) but it's the service that elevates this place. We had the taster menu and some of the courses were amazing. I'd definitely go again. The local area is stunning so overall, highly recommended.

Over the Easter holiday we decided to take a road trip staying at Fonab Castle, Inverlochy Castle, Crossbasket Castle – all in Scotland, and the Yorke Arms in North Yorkshire. Whilst our clear favourite was Inverlochy Castle, the Yorke Arms ranks last. I will explain why. I had wanted to visit the Yorke Arms since seeing the restaurant on TV...
