this is a wonderful pleasant pub and accommodation, the sleep was excellent and the rooms are very clean and looked after, the meals we had were very tasty and filling, all the staff were helpful and pleasant, would return at any time we are in the area.

Wonderful traditional old inn but with all mod cons. Free wifi, flat screen TV, and fantastic full English breakfast. Had sausage and mash for dinner - very substantial, meaty sausages, mash potatoes, and onion gravy. Great views of the hills from every window. Seating area with extensive gardens. Literally a 2 minute walk fro the train station. Very friendly staff...

Normally reasonable food but on this occasion, the mam tor burger was 2 greasy low quality pate's. The vegetable Wellington was nothing more than some averagely cooked cubed vegetables with a piece of 2" square pastry on top. Not a 'wellington' at all. Not recommended.

My wife and I visited The Rambler Inn on 7th December with our 2 month old baby for a birthday lunch for me. Was very quiet being a weekday afternoon, the log fire was warm and the reception and service were the same. We had mains which were absolutely delicious, pub food done right! It's such a genuine country gem...

Popping in after a long and cold walk in the hills, this pub is ideal. Dogs are welcome. A family with young children enjoyed hot chocolate. We didn't eat, but the menu looked inviting. Plenty of outdoor tables, but it was far too cold!

You might not stumble over this place if you're not a rambler, and it's a pity. It's location is also perfect for a pit stop going north (not far from the M6/M60. And the place isn't just for hikers. It's a very good B&B with nice rooms, good food and stunning views - very relaxing

Excellent location right at the start of the Pennine Way which was just a short walk out of the car park to the left opposite the Old Nags Head pub at the other end of the village. The Ramblers Inn was not only a good pub but it was also a great b&b with great food, excellent breakfast and superbly...
