We have eaten in this pub twice, the food, once it arrived was good but you have to wait so long for it. We were told it would be a 20-30 mins wait when ordering but it was 50mins and the place was almost empty so not like they were rushed of their feet, apparently salmon takes a long time!...

Hi after reading your review I was amazed this was your second visit and yet no review of your first experience, but after waiting for a meal, a full 20 minutes extra to what you were told, as alerted you to put pen to paper. I am assuming then, because of a second visit, all was well with your 1st...

Warm friendly Inn with character and very friendly locals! Food was excellent and Tuesday nights is 'fun night' Backdrop of dales and hills and sheep and cows and horses and glorious scenery and local places of interest to visit. Excellent central location and we will be going back!

Stumbled across this place when we stayed nearby on a weekend walking trip and can't rate it highly enough. The food was exceptional (try the "Desperate Dan pie") and there was an excellent selection of ales, each of which I tried without ever meeting that old impostor disappoint. What stood out most, however, was the friendliness of the landlord and...

wow I haven't been here for 8 years and the landlord recognised me what a lovely guy, really smiley and friendly. Every landlord should aspire to be like this guy. I had Sunday lunch which was absolutely spot on and finished with a creek brûlée which I loved. Husband had a salmon fillet with watercress sauce which he commented was...

Whenever we visit the Bowling Green at Bradwell we are never disappointed with the choice of food or drinks available. There is always an excellent choice of meats on offer in the Carvery along with fresh vegetables. Compared to other eateries, we find it excellent value. The landlord and his staff always make you feel welcome. We'll be back soon!

Stopped at this very comfortable, welcoming establishment again and took the dog on this occasion. Everything was a perfect stay with beautiful dog friendly room and patio doors out on the back garden space. They do have dog rules which is quite correct and to want to leave our dog on her own in unfamiliar surroundings does make her nervous....

We arrived about half an hour before the stated time and instead of feeling welcome we felt we had to leave and return later. The rooms are excellent although the TV was minute and did not work very well. Although they say dogs are welcome they cannot stay in the room alone and when eating you are shoved into a...

Dear madam on arrival you were told very politely that the rooms would be ready in half an hour and you decided to go for a walk around the village. The TV is a 22inch flatscreen and have tried it and it works perfectly well with no complaints since. when you take a dog on holiday why would you just...

We stayed for 1 night last night. We arrived, entered the pub and were immediately greeted by the landlord. He was a happy chap and very kind. We got shown our room by a lady, we had a double room. No its not a boutique hotel, like one we recently stayed in in Montreal, 5* level and all....but I'll tell...

I Really think every thing that can be said has been said, everyone is friendly and helpful the food is good as is the beer, the rooms are OK and yes the floorboards creak and you can hear people in the other rooms but overall a great place for a good weekend. The only thing I would say is that it's...
