Couldn't think of a better way to spend a birthday than a weekend in this fabulous B&B. You receive a very warm welcome & Gilly is lovely. You realise instantly that she loves what she does. Room was clean & bed was comfy. A soak in the bath was most welcome after our long walk! If you want a weekend...

We had a lovely stay at River Cottage. The owners are friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was ideal - comfortable, clean and with lots of extra thoughtful touches. Breakfasts were fantastic - especially the freshly baked bread and home made jams, delicious! Thank you for a great stay in the Peaks.

Though I can only DREAM I've stayed at River Cottage, I'm shopping (literally, earnestly) to purchase a B&B. Thanks to all the reviewers. I know that my sleep will be run through with this...

One of the best guest houses we have stayed in. Comfortable bed in lovely room with adjoining luxury bathroom facilities. John and Gilly were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent including home baked bread. The garden slopes down to a river teaming with trout (they love toast - who knew!) and there were some nice outside seating places. Wish...

What makes a 5 star B & B ? Easy parking area. Comfortable room and bed. Super bathroom. Excellent breakfasts. Friendly and entertaining hosts. A garden to relax in by the river and finish a bottle of wine. Super location. What's not to like ? Better than home from home. Thank you John and Gilly.

Attention to detail - excellent. The little things like a torch to use walking back from the local pub, fridge with fresh milk for your tea/coffee, blankets to use if...

The rooms are outstanding and little touches added to the rooms showed how much thought they have taken to making sure you had everything to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. I certainly...
