This resort is sensational due to its remote location and the breathtaking views it gives on the surrounding mountains. The beach where the hotel is located is gorgeous. The villas are splendid - minimalist design, eco-chic at its finest. I strongly recommend the beachfront villas. I think the direct access to the beach and the gorgeous view is worth the premium. Our GEM Myrna was extremely nice, smiling and helpful throughout the stay. The SPA treatments are great. I strongly recommend a stay in Six Senses Zighy Bay.
This resort is a must go to. You are secluded in a small bay in the North tip of Oman by the sea. A bit like being on a Maldivian island, except you have dramatic desert mountains around you. Spacious villas with a large terrace, private pool and sand/palm tree garden. The whole place looks like a desert oasis and blends in the rugged but beautiful terrain. The place is totally sustainable in terms of water and other environmental things. They take great pride in managing the resort in a way that is harmonious with the surroundings and they constantly give back generously to the local community. The place is less than 3h driving from Dubai airport. Of course their many restaurants are amazing. The chefs and staff will cater for your every need in a very personal manner, to the highest standards. The fitness was good and the Spa superb. The ExtraDivers centre team is one of the best we have seen across the world. We did lots of great diving. The water was only 24 degrees given it was beginning January but with a thicker, long suit it was perfectly fine. We had a blast, spending our days on their luxury boats. One of the better resorts in the world to go to. …
Our family of 4 (including 3 year old and 17 month old toddler) stayed at this hotel in October 2019 for 2 nights in a Pool Villa. We had a transfer arranged from the One&Only Royal Mirage, The Palace to Six Senses Zighy Bay which took around 2 hours. The transfer unfortunately was an hour late in transferring us, but the car itself was extremely comfortable with drinks and snacks for the journey. The journey itself is an experience, travelling from Dubai to Oman, and going off road into the mountains, to be greeted with the most wondrous views of the resort. Slightly rocky, and my son was car sick, for those who don’t deal too well with rocky car journeys. On arrival at the hotel, we were met by the Six Senses Team and some cold towels and refreshments following the journey, which was well received. Our luggage was transferred to the room, and we enjoyed a buggy ride to our amazing villa. The hotel is incredible. Eco-luxury at its best! The villa, beautiful! I can’t say one bad thing about the villa or the resort, it was stunning, and just what the Doctor ordered. Ultimate relaxation! Ultimate retreat! Pure luxury with a sustainable approach. I really couldn’t tell whether the hotel was at full capacity, as it had the vibe of the Maldives, where you hardly saw or heard any other guests, and you didn’t have to as the villa with the private pool, and wondrous amenities meant you never had to leave. Breakfast was set up everyday by the pool, as it would be served in a restaurant, and the same in the evening; so you could enjoy a dip in the pool, have a snack and just relax listening to the ocean nearby. We did venture out, and saw Camels which were onsite, goats and a fantastic kids playground, the hotel really meets the expectations for both children and adults alike, with activities on offer - both my children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and cannot wait to return. A walk on the beach at sunset took my breath away, and we didn’t venture too far into the waters as we knew that they had strong currents. There were freshwater and saltwater pools, well equipped gym and the Guest Experience Manager, who you could call whenever which really makes for the most relaxing experience. The staff were wonderful, the villa incredible, the Six Senses amazing and with all this perfection, it really would have shot right to the top of my hotel list, except for a disappointing check-out where we were charged for pre-paid transport, alot of discussion back and forth, and we are still waiting to be reimbursed once they understood their fault...that coupled with the late transfer means that although we had an incredible stay, we still haven’t booked our return stay as planned. Important bits, WIFI good, nespresso in room, wonderful staff (bar check-out) and amazing food and service in one of the most stunning resorts that literally triggers each sense. We will definitely be returning. We would rate the Six Senses Zighy Bay a 9.5/10.…
Zighy Bay is one of those names that, if you’ve lived in the region long enough, you’d’ve heard in passing conversation several times without knowing what people are talking about. And that’s a good thing! Because once you do find out the concept behind this resort, the first thing you’d want to do is keep it a secret, too! Nestled on a 6km stretch of beach behind a tall crescent of mountains from the Hajar range, Musandam’s Zighy Bay pleads you to channel your inner Robinson Crusoe and mix it with a bit of Gilligan’s Island and Lord of the Flies. A village-style resort that has been home to celebrities and royalty in the past, it’s easy to see the attraction: you’re alone in beachfront villa-type accommodations, you have a pool of your own, and if you don’t feel like walking, you can travel around the resort by personal bicycles (which come with the villas) or by golf carts. It’s perfect for a getaway with the significant other or even all by yourself to escape the hustle and bustle of modern urban life. Personally, as a writer, I’d love to come back here and stay for the long term, just to get those creative juices flowing. Our trip was a family vacation during the UAE 5-day long National Day holiday. Three couples and a baby, all staying in the “retreat” villa, two floors and three bedrooms of exquisite village architecture in sandstone and rock, fenced off by barasti. The beds were sadly not as comfortable as should be for a resort like this, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it when you consider the amenities, facilities and activities that surround you will not give you much time to ponder the quality of home life when you’ve got so much on your plate. On the first day, we lounged by our infinity pool and took several swims both in daytime and at night. On the second day we had breakfast at the main building’s restaurant, which offered great selections of foods from delectable cold cuts to freshly made falafel and foul medammes. Service here has two extreme sides. The staff are all friendly, that’s for sure, and they quickly fell in love with my baby daughter and welcomed her with open arms...but the spirit of our trip was dampened when we visited the Sense on the Edge mountain top restaurant. I’ll let the separate review I made speak for itself. Thankfully however, upon learning of our extreme dissatisfaction with the quality of service there, the resort’s F&B manager met us during breakfast to personally apologize. To make it up for us, he gifted the family an in-villa barbecue with massive amounts of food. Mr. Ricardo Coco was definitely a fine example of hospitality decorum and generosity. That very same day, we went on a 4-hour dhow cruise up the bay. Where some of us went fishing, others kayaking and snorkeling. It was followed by an in-boat lunch in which the galley cook (chef?) surprised us with absolutely delicious biryani and perfectly seasoned grilled kingfish! Six Senses is by no means affordable. You must be sure that the budget you have for your stay is enough to take advantage of its full potential. Free wi-fi, a wide selection of TV channels, and a built-in database of movies aside, there’s much to do that needs to be done. What strikes me as a noble CSR initiative is that, when Six Senses built their resort next to the small Omani village of Zaghi that straddles this coastline, not only did they compensate them for the land they purchased from them, but they also built them houses right next door and gave them all jobs at the resort. Also, to make the entire area semi-autonomous(?). To also show commitment to environment preservation efforts, the resort farms and uses the fruits and vegetables they grow in their attached farmlands adjacent to the main location. Six Senses Zighy Bay is a once-in-a-lifetime, scratch-off-your-bucket-list kind of place. It’s truly a get-away spot for people who sincerely want to get away, and if it’s good enough to welcome the likes of Bill Gates, you have no excuse. I truly wish I could buy one of the villas there and live permanently. Trouble is, I don’t think my wife would agree! …
SENSATIONAL and BREATH TAKING!!! I have travelled all over the world and Six Senses Zighy Bay is by far the best luxury resort in the world. Located in the northern tip of Oman with a dramatic mountainous backdrop, secluded spacious villas and a breathtaking coastline, the resort is a piece of paradise. The service is second to none in all departments the attention to detail was outstanding. The food was some of the most delicious food ever tasted in the middle east and you can taste the amount of care and precision that went into the preparation.I stayed in villa 9 right on the beach front and honestly never wanted to leave. A beautiful stone villa set back from the water with a private pool, chill out area and beds as well as a super comfortable lounge area in the villa. I went on a hiking excursion which I totally recommend and micro lighting which was really something with breathtaking scenery. Mohammed was our host and was AMAZING! His attention to detail and forward thinking for anything we would need for our stay was second to none! Also he was super knowledgeable about everything concerned with the resort and activities and always went the extra mile to make sure we were completely happy with our experience.…
