Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for two nights during our trip around the Gaspe peninsula. It was a short drive to the Parc national du Gaspesie for our day of hiking. Andre and Nancy were very friendly and welcoming. It felt like being guests in their home. They were also very helpful and knowledgeable about things to do and where to eat. The auberge was right on the highway, but traffic noise wasn't a problem. The room was comfortable and simple.

Gem of a B&B. two very hospitable hosts who try very hard to please. The room we had included bathroom. The room and bathroom very clean and comfortable. The breakfast presentation was a fun show, and tasty.
We were directed to the local attraction, the cat faced rock.
Lucky us, at the observation deck overlooking the water we were treated to a show of gannets, and a whale feeding on a passing school of fish.
High on our list of small well run B&B's

After finding good reviews for the Gite au Crepuscule on Trip Advisor, I called Andre and it was a fast setup for one night at the Gite. When we arrived, Andre was waiting for us and, together with Nancy. They showed us the room and all the necessary facilities we needed for our stay. It was so interesting to talk to both of them. The place was very neat, nice and the welcoming atmosphere was incomparable.
As it was in the evening we were shown places where we can eat supper which we did at nearby Valmont Restaurant upon their advice. The food was excellent. And we captured a memorable picture of the setting sun from the front of the restaurant!
The beds were very good and the bathroom, though shared, was very well organised and clean.
The next day what a breakfast we got from them! We enjoyed the food, particularly the jam which was made by Andre - he is a good cook and he has the necessary equipment to amaze you!
Andre asked us to go for a walk near his 3 chalets near the beach. Everything was picture perfect there and we decided to plan another stay at the Gite, but in one of the chalets, next time, bringing with us our daughters too, because we now know they will definitely like it.
The next day, we left with the only regret that we could not stay longer as we were touring the Gaspésie. Gite au Crépuscule definitely added a plus to our trip.
Thank you Andre. Thank you Nancy.

6 of us stayed 4 nights in early July in three bedrooms. Andre and Nancy were so friendly and full of information about the area. Andre even arranged for us to visit the local fire hall (some of us are firefighters) at where he is a volunteer. The breakfasts were excellent in a beautiful sunny room. There was lots to see and do in the area that kept us busy for 4 days, including scouring their private beach for special rocks that Andre taught us what to look for. Relaxing on the front deck facing the St Laurence River was especially relaxing after busy days. Lots of room to park our vehicles with kayak trailers, even a fridge to put our food in. We often stay at B&B's and this one is a keeper.

We had only a one night stay in this lovely B/B on our way from Tadoussac to Perce in mid July.
Andre and Nancy are the perfect hosts.
The BB is extremely easy to find (right on route 132)
The rooms are impeccably clean and the baths are of adequate size.
Recommend taking room to back of house, instead of directly on the street (highway) side.
Lovely seating area on porch and after dinner in town, you can sit and watch the sunset over the St. Lawrence.
The hosts are so kind and so interesting to talk with.
Nancy is a nurse and Andre has many hobbies, including polishing of rocks from the riverbeds and making art works from them.
The breakfast is amazing with fresh juice and starters and then a hit fresh prepared entrée.
I would highly recommend this as a stopping ground on your Gaspe journey.
Well worth it...................

We were two couples touring the Gaspe by auto in September when we happened upon Gite au Crepuscule. We had no reservations, but the proprietor Andre set us up in a downstairs suite with two bedrooms, a den to relax and shared bathroom.
Although it was in the basement, it was clean, bright and cheery, with no mustiness or road noise from the highway. The cost was quite reasonable.
As noted in other reviews, Andre was a great host with interesting stories and perspectives. And his breakfast was fabulous!
We walked the beach across from the B&B and enjoyed a spectacular sunset. Andr's dinner recommendatin (Valmont in Cap-Chat) was superb.
We would definitely visit Gite au Crepuscule again if in the area.

Our host Andre was very welcoming, had a good sense of humor and is an excellent chef. Our room faced the St. Lawrence River (but also the highway). The bed and room was very comfortable. The only slight negative was the sound of truck traffic during the night. If you are a light sleeper like me, you might request the back bedroom. Our breakfast was served in a lovely, large open room. Andre made quite an assortment of delicious foods for us to eat. Hot coffee and orange juice was followed by a fruit compote that had Grand Marnier in it (yum). We had homemade rhubarb-strawberry jam which could be put on homemade bran-oat-molasses muffins or toast. Next came ham, eggs prepared as you wish, pancake with fresh fruit (banana, orange slice, apple slices). If I were in the area again, I would most certainly stay at Andre's Gite au Crepuscule. This B & B is only about 20 minutes away from the entrance to the Gaspesie National Park, so it's location could be considered a plus.

What a great experience! We have had very little experience staying in B & B's and this one has set our standards and expectations very high. We did not have a reservation and were very fortunate that there was an available room. Andre and Nancy were very welcoming. We arrived before supper so they made suggestions about where to dine and what to do while in Cap Chat. During the evening, we were invited to join them and another couple for a visit in their living room. I do not speak French but my husband does. I never felt left out of a conversation as they always did their best to explain what they were trying to say. Truly loved Andre's accent and humour! Our room was quite large with a bathroom. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite a "spread"! Anything and everything you would ever want was presented so beautifully by "Andre the chef". Everything was homemade and freshly made. Andre and Nancy also have chalets along the river that they rent. We can not say enough good things about this B & B. Thank you, Andre & Nancy! We hope to see you again sometime!!

Nany and Andre are great hosts. The rooms are nice with comfy beds. The Gite is at the Saint Lawrence River - at the first morning we saw wales, exactly in front of the auberge! So great. Andre is professional cook - the breakfast was extraordinary good. Really recommendable.

We had to take our reservations at chance as there is no online booking or credit card service to guarantee the room. Nevertheless, it all worked out fine. Rooms are a good size, but watch out for downstairs ones where you may have no window you can look out of (up high in the wall), or an en-suite bathroom. Our door didn't lock either, but not really a problem.
There is a large table in a sun room on the landward side where breakfast is served, and it is a good and leisurely breakfast with plenty of opportunity to chat with fellow guests (2 senior couples from NY and a young French/Belgian couple). We had no trouble with road noise, though others have commented.
Cap Chat has a few low-key restaurants for other meals, friendly and generally unpretentious, and the restaurant at the Fleur de Lys motel was highly recommended by the NY couples.
Overall, very good value, and a very friendly host who enjoys cooking up breakfasts!
