Detailed Reviews
The only thing I regret about our stay is that it was too short. You are right on the water in beautifully decorated suites. The view is spectacular. Daphne was an amazing host. We fell in love with their dog Lola.
The beds are extremely comfortable and we slept very well. Comfy robes, chocolates, cheese and crackers and wine upon arrival. Wonderful touches making the stay even more enjoyable. You will feel like you are there to visit good friends that are welcoming you with all the comforts and beauty of their home.
The breakfast provided was more than ample, and it was great to have it in our room so we could come and go based on our day's activities. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice with a park by the water.
Good restaurants recommended by Daphne nearby as well.
We prefer to stay in B&B’s when traveling and we could not have picked a better place to stay for our visit to the area. It is truly a charming and wonderful spot.
We hope to return very soon.
Thanks so much to Daphne, Michael and Lola! Bob and Alex

When my wife first told me we were going to be staying at a B&B, I said "no we're not!" I hated the notion of us staying at some B&B. Well, fortunately for me her views prevailed. Throw away any idea you have ever had about a B&B. Welcome to your own separate entrance, a fabulously comfortable and spacious venue, countless little special touches with first class service, the most breath-taking views and total five-star excellence. We have travelled the world and Dockside Retreat is now among only a handful of our favorite destinations.
When I told her I was going to post this on Trip Advisor she said "no you"re not!"… then she said, "no, we can not have it all to ourselves and deny others this wonderful experience. Staying at Dockside is truly like home away from home, having everything exactly like you would want it to be and more…"

This is a B&B which is almost impossible to fault. Our hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms were faultless - lots of space with very comfortable furniture. We were left the ingredients for a very pleasant breakfast which we could then enjoy at our own time. Great value - we will definitely visit again.

What else can I say? There is a reason all reviews are excellent!
Best Place to stay in Port Moody. I look forward to more work here just so I can stay at the
Dockside. Hot tub is great, the beds are sooo comfy. There are tons of great adventures to be had in the area, and Daphne/Michael have all the 411.
Thanks for everything!

We have been going to a B&B in Port Moody for years but this time it was booked so we took a chance with The Dockside. Dockside had a lot to live up to because of how fond we were of our usual B&B.....will it did and then some. The owner and host was so welcoming and authentic!
The suite we stayed in felt like a luxury hotel suite but with more warmth and coziness. Every detail was looked after. The suite had a wonderful sun room that we had our coffee in the morning and read our books. Hot tub and heated swimming pool. Sweeping views of the Burrard inlet. Crazy comfortable bed and linens. A veritable cornucopia of breakfast items of high quality.
We booked three days but wanted to stay more but alas she was booked. We left feeling a little guilty because we don't think we will be returning.....to our usual B&B.
We would defineately recommend The Dockside Retreat and will be going back ourselves soon.

If you want a pleasant break from the usual hotel stay, then this place is perfect. Complete with a large deck with a hot tub overlooking the water, I stayed there twice this year for extended periods while working in the area. Daphne and Michael were perfect hosts - they went out if their way to welcome me. Daphne has a talent for making guests feel at home and finding out what will make her guests have an enjoyable stay. Every night I came home to fresh flowers, fresh sheets and towels, treats and wine as well as coffee - with a French Press - it was perfect! There is a ton of great books and she kept me updated with current magazines. I could also keep up with my favorite tv programs as they provide all the premium channels I have at home. They even scraped my car windows for me one particularly cold morning! I often stay at B&B's when I travel for work, and I can honestly say that Daphne and Michael are the best hosts that have ever stayed with. I am looking forward to returning to Port Moody to stay again.

We love staying at the Dockside Retreat. The suite is so comfortable (amazingly clean!), Daphne is a wonderful host, the waterfront location is the best. We visit often and enjoy it more each time. There is always an incredible selection of delicious things for breakfast, which we love having in the sunroom overlooking the Burrard Inlet. This is a topnotch bed and breakfast! It's a real bonus having the Old Orchard Park two minutes away.

So glad to be back here again. I doesn't get any better than this. Always greeted so warmly. Looking forward to a soak in the hot tub and some great walks in the area when I'm not working. Best place in Port Moody!

My wife and I spent our wedding night at this lovely and charming B&B and could not have asked for more. There were so many little surprises and the attention to detail was first class. The breakfast spread was delicious and generous and we enjoyed having our breakfast out on the deck overlooking the water. Daphne was a very gracious host and even booked the entire bottom floor for us as she wanted us to have as much privacy as possible for our first night as husband and wife :)
The overall atmosphere of this B&B was very pleasant and relaxing and we will definitely come here again and recommend it to as many people as we can.
Thanks Daphne!

This was our first stay at Dockside Retreat. What a wonderful surprise. We stayed for several days in mid-August. Booking was a dream: you can even check availability on the website, which is kept up to date. That said, I recommend emailing Daphne as well, as she is super-prompt and cancellations happen. When our arrival was substantially delayed (several times), Daphne took it all in stride, no trouble at all. She was so accommodating - I can't say enough about this.
We stayed in the Sunrise suite: gorgeous, spacious (bedroom with glass doors that can shut, living room with comfy large couch, fully stocked kitchen, and even a separate sunroom), and really intended for adults. When my husband and I had a child with us, no problem, Daphne didn't bat an eyelash and instead produced a cot for the sunroom. She even bought kid cereal, in addition to the incredible spread that was already there, when she realized a child was staying! My son was thrilled.
The room was cool even during the hot summer temperatures (mid to high 20s). Daphne has fans set out just in case. Little luxuries are everywhere: the muffins in the heavy glass cake-stand, specialty soaps and shampoos (I almost never use hotel shampoos, but this was good stuff, for color-treated hair), heavy terry cloth robes, sparkling water, etc. I even took pictures of all the books that were set out about the suite, as I was inspired to read them (which I’d had more time)! Daphne checked on us to see if we needed anything, without ever being intrusive at all.
We ate breakfast in our robes on the large deck overlooking the water while my son swam in the lengths pool (has a current so you can swim against it). Drank wine on the loungers in the late afternoon. We were there on weekdays, so we had the deck to ourselves. My son sat on the wharf and studied crabs along the shoreline. A few houses down in a beach (with a roped off area for swimming) and a trail for walking, jogging, etc. Daphne offered us access to a 'cinema room' which is sound-proof, to watch a film, but we never got around to it.
I honestly can't think of any constructive criticism. The hospitality and attention to detail was incredible from start to finish. We will return, and recommend to our most discerning friends.
