We arrived there at sunset time and the view was breathtaking. The restaurant shows the real beauty of the Bolsena lake from its big elegant windows, adding delicious typical food and wine(Est! Est!! Est!!!) for a special atmosphere. Margherita, the co-owner, is a really passionate woman, Il Caminetto Resort being like her child. I went there with three Italian friends...

Decent menu, lots of veggie options. Slightly eccentric staff. Restaurant feels big as I think is really a wedding venue but when the tables by the windows fill up the atmosphere feels more comfortable. But the views are unbeatable and that's what we came for.

We loved Il Caminetto two years when we stopped for lunch and we LOVED this Fall when we stopped for two days! Margarita actually remembered us! We were with friends and had four days in Italy in between cruising and spent two nights at Caminetto. It was a perfect spot from which to explore the Lazio region. Our rooms were...

In spite of the beautiful view of Bolsena lake, we have spent all night long killing tens and tens of beetles coming into the room at ground floor. The towels arranged to act as a barrier were not enough to stop the animals...It was really a pity!

What a gorgeous setting overlooking the lake, gracious host Margarita I'd come for a month if I had more time. But you need a car to get around to all the ancient sites and villages in the area. There are guys who rent boats on the lake and nice restaraunts or just stay in and soak up the extraordinary view

we happened on the il Caminetto by chance, and looking for a meal and a room decided to give it a go - we were the only ones in (it was October) - like a number of other reviewers. the staff were most helpful and the room we had is the one which appears in most of the publicity, large,...

We stayed here for 3 nights in late September. The rooms were reasonable size but lacked amenities including no bar fridge, no bathroom exhaust fan and dodgy plumbing. Our room was on the lower level and rather dank. If you opened the windows a horde of friendly local insects invited themselves in. At least we had hot water as opposed...

We stayed for 4 nights at Il Caminetto at the end of February, prior to taking a cruise from Civitavecchia. As two experienced and, if honest, slightly hard to please travellers(!), we had an exceptional stay here. It was in no small part due to the owner and hostess, Margherita. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel...

We were on our way to Siena from Vetralla/Viterbo when we stumbled upon this beautiful property situated on the hill above Lake Bolsena. After taking in the view and exploring the beautiful buildings, we decided to stay for lunch. As we were the only ones there as it was off season, we were treated like family! The restaurant was beautifully...

Conveniently located right off the Via Cassia, overlooking the Lago di Bolsena with a glorious view, Il Caminetto Resort seemed like a perfect place for an overnight stay, despite its fairly unappealing exterior. We were greeted by some fairly disinterested staff, not very welcoming and obviously too busy to attend to us properly despite the large place being basically deserted....
