We only stayed one night, which was a pitty, because the lodge is just beautiful, the staff very friendly, and the forest, well it was just amazing! Wonderful walk through thick foggy forest, lots of birds, lovely rainforest.

The Lodge is very beautiful. We stayed in a luxury tent, which deserves the name, very comfy and more like a room. The food was great, especially the freshly made bread (which helped us survive the minibus trips the next days) and salads. Although we only stayed for a day, I could easyly imagine to stay there for a week....

Hi Janina, Thanks for your kind review. Since we are not close to any supermarkets we are making most of the food ourselves. This also means fresh homemade bread every day! And we try to get most of our vegetables from one of our three vegetable gardens. With one of our maps it is easy to walk around in the...

Host and staff were friendly. It was special to stay in the last epic forest of Malawi. The lodge does a great effort to protect the forest from deforestation and poaching. Hikes are great. Camping and the fireplace in the garden are cozy!

Hoi Koen, Bedankt voor je review. Leuk dat jullie op de lodge kwamen kamperen! We try our best in cooperation with the local communities to protect the forest. Two times a day we send a patrol team to different areas in the forest to check for illegal logging and poaching. We hope you enjoyed your travels around Malawi and perhaps...

I spent a weekend at Ntchisi with some friends. The food was one of the highlights, really great fresh ingredients, delicious home-cooked meals. They make their own delicious bread, chutneys, jams, yogurt etc - all great. I stayed in the main house - very comfortable bed - next time would love to try the stunning glass forest chalet which was...

Thanks for your friendly words. We are happy to hear that you appreciated our place, food and service. We make a lot of the food ourselves at the lodge. We use as many local products as possible, both to support the local communities as well as the high quality of the products. Since there are many tasty mushrooms in the...

It remained a wonderful experience. Having visited Luwawa Forest Lodge I was much tempted to visit Ntchisi Forest Lodge which was near to Lilongwe. We are much appreciative of staff of lodge for preparing vegetarian meals for us. That was extraordinary and out of way experience. Not forgetting ecofriendly management of whole setup. Cleanliness of entire area was catching eyes....

Thanks for your kind review. We were happy that the two of you could visit us and enjoyed your stay! We will definitely organise this next year again. We...

It's not easy to get to this remote lodge. It's takes a lot of time and effort but it's worth it, Actually, its remoteness is its highest virtue. It's located in a beautiful scenery and the indigenous forest (in which we walked the next morning) is very near by. The public areas of the lodge itself are very inviting and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ntchisi Forest Lodge is a remote eco-lodge in a historial building in a rainforest location with the most stunning view in Malawi. Here you can experience the real Africa, either on one of our many rainforest or mountain hikes, or you can participate in some of our cultural activities in remote rural villages still untouched by tourism. We also arrange volunteering stays, on which you can spend a few days or weeks delving a bit deeper into Malawian culture and feel that you give something back as part of your holiday. The lodge runs enterily on renewable energy and we grow most of our own herbs and vegetables. You can stay in one of the 5 lodge rooms, our newly build Forest Cabin or stay in one of our two luxury tents. Here you can experience the real Africa in comfortable and safe surroundings and with a good conscience. ... more   less
