Where do I start with this hotel...
My husband and I arrived at this hotel unaware that there was a surf competition going on (husband is a surfer so he was in his element) we met the manager Eva who was fabulous! She explained a little about the hotel which we found very interesting...she showed us to our suite and explained to us everything we needed to know about Suarga!

Our room was the most wonderful experience of an outdoor bathroom (loved everything about this)

You feel like a part of nature and we love that everything is Eco friendly and recycled.

The pool areas are wonderful with the most beautiful infinity pool with perfect views of the ocean.

Junet made us feel like family while staying here and we cannot thank him, Eva and all staff enough for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable! Every staff member we came across went out of there way to help us when they could... Even the gardeners!

The food here is top class, can't beat it! Even at the pool! Breakfast and dinner is also fab!

We plan to return to this hotel hopefully this summer and stay longer this time as it was so fabulous! Everything about this hotel is spectacular and like nothing you will see anywhere else.

Thank you so much to everyone at Suarga, we cannot wait to visit again soon.

Christy and Ross

Facilities – when we arrived the staff talked for about 10 minutes about how ‘eco-friendly’ the resort was. It would have been a lot more useful to explain the facilities of the resort. There was no explanation of the local surroundings, breakfast hours, check out time or anything that is actually practical.

Apparently being an eco-resort means no television. This is probably my fault that I didn’t read this when booking, but it’s not like they didn’t have electricity. I rarely watch tv and I see holidays as a time to treat myself with the option of sitting by the pool, watching a movie, reading books etc but I didn’t have the option of watching tv.
We had fully paid for our stay before we arrived but ‘according to policy’ we still needed to put a AU$400 hold on our credit card. After already paying so much this was so bizarre. We were also told this wouldn’t be refunded to us for 14 working days after our stay?! Fair enough if we hadn’t paid but we had paid in full already.
Unfortunately I got food poisoning from Suarga’s ‘Indonesian’ breakfast. Because there are no phones in the room, my partner had to leave me while I was very unwell to find a staff member to get a bucket.

On top of being poisoned by breakfast, the breakfast service was by far the worst service I have had anywhere! We honestly could not believe the sheer unprofessionalism. Everywhere we ate in Bali had incredible service, they are friendly and amazingly efficient. Apparently you don’t get this service paying AU$400+/night at Suarga. We had to ask when breakfast was, 7.30am, however we asked this question at 7.45am and nothing was set up. There was no breakfast to be seen. When the staff were finally ready, we were served. We thought maybe it was just a one-off but every morning for 4 days, breakfast was a complete mess. One day the toaster wasn’t put out which we had to ask for another day we waited 45 minutes just to be served and another day I got food poisoning. A truly hopeless attempt at breakfast. If I hadn’t paid for it, I would have preferred to get breakfast at one of the amazing surrounding cafes where I would be served efficiently.

There was yoga and spa treatment options which we didn’t use because they were the most expensive we came across in Bali! Apparently the massages are also done on the beds in the rooms – no massage table. That certainly wasn’t appealing to us for the price. At previous resorts I have stayed in, yoga was free for resort guests.

Comfort – The resort has a strange atmosphere. All staff assumed we were from Europe and were very artificial, e.g. when we arrived the staff asked how our flight was, when I replied we didn’t just fly in and we came from somewhere else in Bali, I was ignored. There was no genuine interest, it was just a token ‘how was your flight’. This fake-ness made the stay cold, not warm and friendly at all. Again, having a tv would have been more comfortable, but the resort is obviously trying to save money here.

Something I should have read more carefully was that the entire bathroom is outside! It is hot out there and uncomfortable to get ready in the heat. It’s unpleasant to have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, especially when you have food poisoning. The bathroom felt exposed and not private, you could see our shower head from the public parts of the resort. The shower floor was made of wood – highly unhygienic and is starting to rot due to constantly being wet. Showers are cold in the morning due to solar panels, have to wait until about 11am for a warm shower. To top it off, having a shower one day and a monkey jumped up on the bathroom wall and started to climb down the wall into our shower! Quite funny to be honest but very uncomfortable and unhygienic!

Value for money – we were so looking forward to our stay here and we had high expectations. It was a lot of money for us to stay here and we were thoroughly disappointed. We paid a lot less to stay at other hotels in Seminyak, Canggu and Keramas and their service was better than Suarga’s on most levels – the only thing I can say Suarga did better was replace our towels more frequently…

Me and my friends came for a day visit, we had a very good food and couple of drinks. I was soo much impressed about the history of the place and its a big wow for us. The place is very fascinating with ocean views and for sure sunset adds a lot of story in our stay. After long time i haven't seen this beautiful sunset and the horizon. This place is best place to stay quite and unique architectural design. Thank you to Adi and his team and hope to visit again for my next holiday in Bali.

I have to admit, it is a pretty resort, but like a person, you need more than the look no???
When we first checked in the hotel at 8pm, we were told that they are getting our keys and got sat down for a welcome drinks for like...an hour, and nobody told us the room is ready until we asked.
We had a two bedroom suite and when we walk in, the windows in master bedroom was all open, AC didn’t get into the room, which cause loads of mosquitos bite in the middle of night at 2 am. Of course, because there’s no phone in the room, if I want to complain, I have to walk all the way to the front desk. What could I do? Pack my blanket and slept in the other room on the floor. Worst night of sleep ever.
And, what’s worse? There’s no WiFi service in the master bedroom.

Followed by the noise in the early morning at the result of super weak sound proving wall.

Last reminder, it is all European outlet hub only. If you want to charge your phone, you gotta BUY an adopter from them. Seriously, i can’t even charge my iPhone without buying one.

I stayed at many resorts in my life and works in the hotel industry, this is absolutely one of the worst.
