Booked a lunch for husband,s 60 th birthday. 13 family members from all over the UK. 1 vegan, 1 coeliac, 2 grandmas with small appetites. The food was fantastic, and the care and attention faultless. Relaxed, nothing too much trouble. Thankyou to Stuart and Jo, and all of their colleagues. N.b the steamed venison pudding was legendary.

This is a well established hotel and is full of character and charm. The food is imaginative and very very good. I had a wonderful starter of black pudding and a main of venison. Both were excellent. This a very good restaurant with a good menu and very helpful stafff.

We have eaten here many times in the past and usually have wonderful food. This time there were a few disappointing elements and unfortunately no one asked us how the meal was at the time. I therefore contacted them afterwards to let them know. I spoke with a manager who was very helpful and thanked me for the feedback. She...

Cannot praise this place enough! Fantastic, varied Sunday lunch menu at a reasonable fixed price. When we asked for slight changes, chefs were able to accommodate and front of house staff were lovely. Particularly loved the seafood salad as a starter and smoked pheasant for main.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a nearby wedding. Not our usual style of hotel but very glad we chose it. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable (a tad cold as we were on the top floor, but it was November)! There was another wedding on whilst we staying but the...

We stopped off here overnight on way to Wales and so pleased we did. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It is a family run business so you can see that in the customer service The rooms are all quite quirky, which is what appealed. It wasn't the usual bland, boring hotel room you end up...

We chose the Hundred House for an 80th Birthday party and from the time of our initial enquiry to the event itself we were looked after efficiently by the friendly and helpful team. The arrangements were made long distance but it was a pleasure organising the event through them as they were responsive to emails and queries. Our lunch party...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hundred House is a charming, family run hotel at Norton, Telford, situated in rolling countryside close to Shropshire's beautiful Severn Valley, just ten minutes drive from Ironbridge Gorge and its many museums. Throughout, it has drying herbs and flowers grown in the Inn's own garden hanging from the oak beams. Guests are welcome to browse the garden at their leisure and enjoy the variety of unusual sculptures, statues, archways, roses, trees, herbaceous plants and the large working herb garden with over 100 varieties of herbs, providing seasonal supplies to the kitchen. The distinctive bar and restaurant features mellow brick and stained glass with Jacobean wood paneling and cosy open log fires. The hotel has 9 individually decorated bedrooms, most with 4 poster or half tester beds and chandeliers. The bedrooms contain exquisite, hand-picked antique furniture and en suite bathrooms refurbished in 2011, featuring Victoria & Albert baths and rain showers. Many also have the famous Hundred House swing hanging from the oak beams - you won't forget your stay here in a hurry and is ideal for those who like to 'escape the norm'! This quirky decor helped the Hundred House to win a coveted Cesar award for 'utterly enjoyable mild eccentricity'. The Hotel is owned and run by the Phillips family; Head Chef, Stuart, has held two AA Rosettes for 16 years and earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for his imaginative cuisine. The Hundred House has a fantastic reputation for excellent food and friendly service, making it favourite destination for many local people. Attached to the hotel is Shropshire's only 17th-Century Tithe Barn. Recently refurbished, it is ideal for weddings, christenings, parties, functions, conferences and meetings.
