My wife and I stayed at this beautiful, cozy lodge for a single night in late September of this year. This place was recommended to us by a relative who knows the owners, Sean and Rosemary. The remote area where the lodge is located has all sorts of interesting wildlife, including wallabies, possums, and many colorful birds. There are fields...

Four of us stayed one very pleasant night after a friend's recommendation. Unfortunately family commitments prevented us staying much longer ! We were warmly welcomed by the Owners/Hosts Sean & Rosemary over a great coffee. The 2 rooms allocated were of a high standard, with all facilities provided. Five star gourmet dinner & breakfast were prepared in house. The lodge...

Highly recommend. My partner and I stayed just the one night, a random decision to have a night away after exploring the Great Lakes area. Very impressed, happy with our decision. Rosemary and Sean are welcoming, have heaps of knowledge of the surroundings and are great to have a chat to. I can't talk enough about the food that Sean...

We loved our short stay at this truly magnificent environment. Rosemary and Sean are perfect hosts and there is much to admire in the way they run this unique enterprise in such a sustainable and sensitive way. The setting is dramatic with sweeping views to the Great Western Tiers and surrounded by enchanted forests. It was a real pleasure to...

Situated in the hidden valley of Jackeys Marsh, the sustainable off-the-grid lodge is surrounded by UNESCO listed World Heritage forests. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in spacious room with bathroom and gorgeous mountain views of the Western Tiers in Northern Tasmania. Good value is the excellent 3-course gourmet dinner and of special interest are a number of educational walks....

When you travel quite a lot as we do it is such a pleasure to find a place which is as special as Forest Walks Lodge. We spent a couple of nights at the Lodge recently as part of a week long trip to Tasmania where we also stayed at Pump House Point at Lake St Clair and Lost Farm...

Thanks John. So glad to hear you enjoyed our hospitality. Also that you enjoyed the magnificent forests at our doorstep. As we are located on the Great Western Tiers Touring Route we take it seriously that we provide the best food and wine of the region to our guests.

I loved that this lovely, warm B&B/eco lodge is really tucked away from the tourist trail yet only a short drive from the main touring route. We stayed with our two children (10 and 11) and learnt more about Tasmanian forests from Sean (we opted for the half day guided walk) than in our entire three week trip - fascinating!...

Thanks Susie. Mumma possum still comes and climbs on the woodpile outside the dining room window most evenings, usually with her cheeky baby who is growing quickly.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March 2016. The accommodation was great - clean and very comfortable. The food that Sean served was excellent - he checked with us during the day what we would like and sourced all the food locally - all the veg from the garden and bread home made...

The lodge is a beautiful place to enjoy the scenic surroundings away from everything. Stayed three nights and enjoyed short walks in the Tasmanian forests that start at your door, quiet time in our room and drove out to view some stunning lakes and waterfalls close by. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Disappointing was the level of ordinary services advertised...

Thanks for your comments. One of the more difficult elements of running a sustainable accommodation business with only renewable energy inputs are the restrictions on our energy use, reflected especially in our ability to use hairdryers and electric jugs. These are the things our guests most often comment on negatively. The beautiful surroundings, outstanding views and peace and serenity are...

Stayed two nights with Rosemary and Shaun who are passionate and so knowledgable, in this off the grid small lodge surrounded by beautiful forest and mountains, extremely quiet and restorative. Shaun is the chef and we had a delicious meal of venison with a cherry patisserie for desert which was amazing. Most of the food is home made and locally...
