We came to the area to attend my son’s wedding, being held at a winery in Essex County. We selected this B&B based on favorable reviews and it was even better than we expected. Bob and Leslie Meloche are terrific hosts and have a beautiful 10 acre property which they continue to develop. Although not there for very long, we took full advantage of the koi pond lounge area, the pool and the trails leading to the meadow. We stayed in the Vineyard Suite which is on the main level next to the dining area and loved it. The other two rooms were upstairs and looked very nice as well. The breakfasts were excellent - everything was delicious and sourced on property or locally. Leslie is the consummate over-achiever, having experience as a wine sommelier, attending culinary classes and currently a part-time winemaker at one of the local wineries. We will definitely be back to visit some area wineries and stay again at this delightful B&B.…
We were welcomed warmly at this lovely B&B. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated and very clean. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable. And our breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely return to this pretty place.
My partner & I came to the area for the Festival of Birds at Point Pelee & can't recommend Walnut Grove BnB enough. Leslie & Bob are wonderful hosts; friendly, welcoming & providing everything you need for your stay in the area & at their beautifully appointed century old farmhouse. There are 3 rooms each with their own en suite. Our room was gorgeous with an amazingly comfortable bed & thick towels. The property has all the amenities of a resort: a wine/beer upon arrival, heated pool, hot tub, shed in the woods (for quiet contemplation, painting, reading, writing), walking trail, an outdoor fireplace with cosy sitting areas + a lovely sitting area in the house just for guests. Plus the added bonus of poodles Phoebe & Riley, Kia the cat & the Koi pond fish for those of us who love animals. Leslie's gourmet breakfasts are delicious with savoury & sweet offerings, all made with local ingredients. We LOVED the scones, biscuits & maple sugar & walnut syrup from the trees on the property. Whether you are coming to the area for the birds, the beaches, the wineries, the cute shops or the fresh vegetables/fruit we highly recommend you treat yourself to Walnut Grove BnB. It's an easy 25 min drive to Point Pelee Park (Hillman Marsh & Kopegaren) & 10 min from Kingsville restaurants (the golf club does a great perch/pickeral dinner). We look forward to visiting again.…
On arrival we were greeted by Leslie and Bob's 'fancy farm dogs', who we fell madly in love with during our stay. Then there was the koi pond with fish that were also friendly. The atmosphere is chic and very relaxed, with lots of places to rest and enjoy the grounds. We swam in the pool, which was heated yet refreshing - just right. Our room was spotless, with a super-comfy king bed and the kitchenette in between two rooms was well-designed, with a large bar-fridge, ample to share with occupants of the other room. It was great to have dishware, including glasses, to enjoy some food we brought with us. The breakfast was like none we have ever had at any other B&B - they were more like little foody works-of-art and spectacularly delicious! It's a short trip to both Point Pelee Provincial Park as well as Amherstberg and, of course, to many wonderful wineries that are sure to please. Leslie and Bob put their hearts and souls into everything they do here - I would highly recommend this 5-star location to anyone who wants to feel welcome in a home-away-from home.…
This hidden gem in Harrow exceeded our expectations! Bob and Leslie were such wonderful and interesting hosts. Even their pets were adorable and friendly! We were treated to beautiful accommodations and comfortable surroundings inside this renovated farmstead. Every thoughtful detail and amenities. Nothing has been overlooked. The breakfasts were some of the best I have ever eaten. Especially the pancakes with their Walnut Syrup tapped right there on the farm! (only available to purchase for guests). It was very apparent that Leslie put much thought into each dish, with items used to compliment each flavour and a wine paired to the dish. She strives to source products locally. We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner one night (Chicken Marsala) and a charcuterie board. We were 4 gals who came here for a crafting weekend. Bob and Leslie let us make use of their Chalet out the back with a wood burning stove that kept us warm with the smell of the Walnut Syrup wafting about the room. We had dinner out at a few local places which were also great . (Bearded Dog- (Samuel L Jackson Burger) Pauline Winery -Pizza)…
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away at Walnut Grove, and enjoyed every aspect of our stay! Our hosts, Bob and Leslie are both thoughtful and gracious; having considered every aspect of their guest’s stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a fun and interesting mix of antique and new pieces. Our room was so cozy and comfortable, it was really difficult to leave! Tempting us out of our room was breakfast, and each morning this was a real treat! Our breakfast was literally the best meal that I have had for quite a long time. Again, the care dedicated to detail like homemade strawberry jam, homemade granola and home baked scones….all very special. We are both looking forward to our next visit! Lisa Toronto
Walnut Grove BnB is a quiet, clean, spacious and calming place. Very tidy and lovely AirBnb equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice bathroom. Leslie and Bob were great host and there when you need them, Very nice and wants to share all they know about the area. Food was locally sourced and delicious! We had a great stay!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay hosted by Bob and Leslie. We enjoyed our time in the Vineyard Suite which is spacious room with a luxurious king size bed. Our dining experience was second to none…a wonderful dinner was enjoyed by candlelight in the screened in porch of their sugar shack with wine pairings by Sommelier/chef Leslie. The breakfasts prepared by both Bob and Leslie from the homemade scones and house made granola to the eggs Benny were beyond delicious. Thanks to our most gracious hosts Bob and Leslie.
A great experience, dinner in the Sugar Shack was excellent, breakfasts were great with exceptional presentation and variety. We stayed in the “Into The Woods” room which was very spacious and comfortable. Lesley and Bob are very knowledgeable and gracious hosts. Thank you for everything!
Can’t wait to go back. Everything was amazing. Right in the middle of Lake Erie North Shore (LENS) wine country, with a Sommeleir/ Chef as a co-host. The food was crazy delicious. The grounds and the rooms - spectacular and restful. Will definitely be back for a vacation.
