On the afternoon of June 15, Tula tied up at the resort. Docking assistance was provided by a friendly staff member, she then provided us with a brief overview of the resort. While registering, I noticed the dinner menu and said " We are eating here this evening". It was a decision that we will remember for a long time. If you like Schnitzel with red cabbage , this is as good as it gets. However the attention to detail and the little extras added to the experience, warm homemade bread with a chive flower in the whipped butter in the middle of the wilderness !!, cloth napkins and a very impressive beer and wine list with million dollar view "ticked all the boxes"

Family owned very nice place. Friendly staff, nice cottage with spectacular views. Great expeditions with guides Jeff and Eliot. We did bear viewing and all kind of other species (sea lions, dolphins, eagles, etc). When they take you on a day trip, lunch is served. You can walk 2 nice trails on their premises.
We had a great time!

We are boating up the coast of Vancouver Island to the Broughton Archipelago. Blind Channel Marina is always one of our stops. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the facilities. This is a slow year because of COVID, but nothing stops Blind Channel! The restaurant is not open yet, but the chef is hard at work. Not only does he create amazing dinners, he now delivers right to your boat. My husband and I both had schnitzel with all the trimmings. It was simply great! Thank you Blind Channel.

They have their own water taxi that you can catch from Campbell River, if you don't have your own boat, and the ride to get to Blind Channel is fantastic!

The dock facilities are grade A, and you can't beat the dock hands, they're the best.

You will love the store. They have everything you could possibly need, plus a post office and boutique. Ice cream, alcohol, sundries and the best home made cinnamon rolls you can imagine, and bread(home made)!

The food at the restaurant is delicious and the salads are a work of art. Flowers from Jennifers garden are on the tables and in the salads! Stay for the afternoon BBQ it's delicious and you can meet nice people.

I have not stayed at the cabins. We had friends that lived near the Resort so I can't comment on them, but I would imagine they are as excellent as the rest of the resort.

They give tours and treat you like family. I would rate this above excellent because you won't meet nicer people.

Go, have a great time!
My review says August 2015 but we went 2 years ago and I can only imagine it's even better!

Stunningly beautiful location with best of BC wildlife all around. Family of 4 from Australia stayed for 3 nights and very impressed with this friendly family- run lodge. Food excellent especially considering remote location. Service exceptional and always with good humour. Very comfortable cabin.
Can recommend the local hiking trails. They’re not long but beautiful forest and coastal exploring.
Wildlife tour with Jess was a big day but packed with amazing scenery and we were blown away by the dive-bombing eagles and playful dolphins. Nice little hike to lake. Tour was kept flexible depending on sightings, rapids flow etc
Also went fishing and exploring with Hans who knows all the best spots and was highly entertaining. Cruising through the channels with glassy water, fog lifting to reveal the bays, islands and mountains will be a lasting memory.
All of this with wonderful friendly helpful staff. Thank you all.

Wonderful service! It was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect. Jess was a wonderful host and even helped us cast off at the crack of dawn and Strudel (the dog) is the best damn greater on the coast. We loved our stay and we will be back!

We showed up in October late one night. We were headed to Vancouver and needed somewhere to stopover. Despite the cold and the lateness of the hour Jess came down to meet us, she opened the store, showed us around and even got us a cabin for the night. We will be back and we will be telling our friends!

We have been here on 3 occasions. The first made us want to come back. The second; no so much. And the third, not at all. On occasion 2 when we attempted to secure a table in the 1/4 full restaurant the staff were prepared and happy to seat us until the manager came over. He then proceeded to tell us the "kitchen was about to be slammed". After considerable discussion, he then told us they didn't have enough food to feed our party of 4 in addition to existing reservations. When we offered to eat whatever they had he pretended to talk to the kitchen only to come back and tell us they could not accommodate us. Knowing this is a family owned, seasonal operation, and as our summer home is in the local area we tried for a 3rd time again the following year but this time we phoned ahead to make a dinner reservation. Regrettably, no one answered the phone despite repeated calls. When we arrived and again attempted to secure a table in the (once more) 1/4 full restaurant in an incredibly remarkable coincidence we were again told by the same restaurant manager that the kitchen "was about to be slammed". As before after discussion he said he would check with the kitchen to see if we could be accommodated. This time one of our party who could clearly see the kitchen observed both chefs standing there with little to do to go while the restaurant manager stood nearby and said nothing to them returning after a few minutes to say he couldn't accommodate us. I have nothing but good things to say about the resort generally and dock staff and facilities. However, the restaurant management needs considerable improvement. There seems to be an impetus to cater to the needs of American guests arriving on large boats and to ignore locals. No problem... but don't forget that in tough times it will be the locals or lack thereof that makes or breaks your business.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry for your experience. I remember the situation well. It was 6:25 and we had 30 people booked to come in at 6:30, so we were about to get slammed. I asked if you could come back a bit later after the rush. I thought you were staying at the resort on a boat, and didn't find out where you had come from until afterwards. On extremely busy nights, we have to give priority to reserved guests in order to make sure everyone gets the best possible service. Of course we value our local business very much. In fact, we depend on it. I would be happy to buy you dinner if you are in the neighborhood again. Best regards, Eliot Richter

We were told that Blind Channel had the best food and you must eat at the restaurant. When we arrived on Saturday and were told that they have the seafood buffet, and you must go it is unbelievable.

At $55 a person, I have never been to a buffet with 2 salads, 1 chaffing dish of clams, mussles, shrimp and crab, and two desserts for this price. We were actually handed two crab legs and told that they need to keep the rest for others. Really...at an all you can eat buffet. I have never heard that before, and we felt like we were taken,

A friend said you must eat their bread that comes with dinner.....oops sorry "we don't do bread with our buffets"

So glad I came back home to my clubs $39 buffet, with Sushi, crab, fish, soups, 4 salads, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, and a table of over 20 different desserts.

Choose carefully at Blind Channel - and stay away from the buffets.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience. We take your criticism seriously, and will make every effort to make sure that people are receiving good value at all of our special functions. I would like to point out that the price of the buffet also includes the cost of the live band which we transport in and out by water taxi as we have no road access on the island. Also, we usually only expect to see between 30 and 50 guests on any night because of our remote location, which does somewhat limit the number of choices we can offer. However, we did provide a second entree option at all our buffets this year, such as roasted pork tenderloin, and baby back ribs. Many people make a special point of being here for our band/buffet nights, but we recognize that there is room for improvement, and we are now working with a new chef to make sure that we exceed all of our future guests' expectations. Our famous bread will be part of any future buffets. Kind regards, Blind Channel Resort

Travelling with three children 10, 11, 12 we arrived at Blind channel by sea plane from Campbell River in August 2016, with stunning views over the various islands en route I was the perfect way to travel, although we could have been picked up by boat. We were greeted by a friendly team, offered a choice of cabins to stay in and our luggage was delivered to the door by all terrain vehicle (Three are no cars on West Thurlow island). The cabins all have great views across Blind Channel, really comfortable beds and was well equipped including Weber Barbeque on the verandah, and complimentary cleaning products in the bathroom and kitchen areas. We had drinks and delicious evening meals on the restaurant terrace served by a super friendly team, one night this also included a jazz band with great atmosphere. Whilst at Blind Channel we followed the trails through the rain forest to an old Cedar tree, and enjoyed a lunchtime family picnic on a small neighbouring island with beach. We also enjoyed two days fishing which produced Ling Cod, rock fish, prawns and crab, all of which we enjoyed as a delicious sea food platter the same evening which was a highlight of our month trip around Canada. All in all a really great adventure place for both adults and children alike, with plenty of space and opportunities for children to run around. Eliot and his team went above and beyond making our time at Blind Channel perfect, and even arranged for the balance of our caught fish to be picked up in Vancouver at the end of our trip.
