On the afternoon of June 15, Tula tied up at the resort. Docking assistance was provided by a friendly staff member, she then provided us with a brief overview of the resort. While registering, I noticed the dinner menu and said " We are eating here this evening". It was a decision that we will remember for a long time. If you like Schnitzel with red cabbage , this is as good as it gets. However the attention to detail and the little extras added to the experience, warm homemade bread with a chive flower in the whipped butter in the middle of the wilderness !!, cloth napkins and a very impressive beer and wine list with million dollar view "ticked all the boxes"
We are boating up the coast of Vancouver Island to the Broughton Archipelago. Blind Channel Marina is always one of our stops. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the facilities. This is a slow year because of COVID, but nothing stops Blind Channel! The restaurant is not open yet, but the chef is hard at work. Not only does he create amazing dinners, he now delivers right to your boat. My husband and I both had schnitzel with all the trimmings. It was simply great! Thank you Blind Channel.
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a trip with Beyond the Road Adventures, who are based in Lund. The location is beautiful, the cabins comfortable and the catering good - we particularly enjoyed the sumptuous breakfasts prepared by Bruce. The icing on the cake was 2 days of trips on a fast aluminium boat skippered by Jess. Thanks to her knowledge and skill we saw orcas, humpback whales, black bears and grizzlies. A really memorable stay.
We spent four glorious days in this very special and peaceful place. The trip to Blind Channel and accommodation was a dream to organise, and a dream to enjoy. Eliot and his team make you feel like you are part of their close knit community. The wildlife and fishing tours were fabulous with Jess and Hans as were the water taxi rides from and back to Campbell River. So much wildlife, good fishing and fabulous food cooked fresh every day in the kitchen, A friendly happy hour every evening before dinner overlooking the mariner. Cabins are absolute quality, so comfortable and spotlessly clean. Such great memories to take back to Tasmania!
My husband and I stayed in one of their cabins for our mini honeymoon (2 nights) beginning of July 2019. We parked our car at Rock Bay Campground for the time we were away and caught their water taxi to the resort. The cabin was lovely and very spacious and had an amazing view of the marina/water. The restaurant had delicious food, probably the best we've had in a long time, and amazing house cocktails! We did a boat tour and the skipper was very knowledgeable about the area and we were delighted to get to see lots of Eagles, Sea Lions and 2 pods of Humpback Whales up close! Lastly, all the staff were very welcoming and it felt like we were part of the little community while we were there. We can't say enough good things about our time at Blind Channel Resort. We highly recommend experiencing it for yourself, either by mooring your boat or taking the water taxi and staying in one of their cabins. We will definitely be going back! …
Stunningly beautiful location with best of BC wildlife all around. Family of 4 from Australia stayed for 3 nights and very impressed with this friendly family- run lodge. Food excellent especially considering remote location. Service exceptional and always with good humour. Very comfortable cabin. Can recommend the local hiking trails. They’re not long but beautiful forest and coastal exploring. Wildlife tour with Jess was a big day but packed with amazing scenery and we were blown away by the dive-bombing eagles and playful dolphins. Nice little hike to lake. Tour was kept flexible depending on sightings, rapids flow etc Also went fishing and exploring with Hans who knows all the best spots and was highly entertaining. Cruising through the channels with glassy water, fog lifting to reveal the bays, islands and mountains will be a lasting memory. All of this with wonderful friendly helpful staff. Thank you all. Rob, Elaine, Lachie and Dan (loved his birthday cake!)…
excellent marina, stayed there for 3 days. A little bit tricky to dock because of the currents, great area at top of dock to sit and read and another area for bringing your own food to eat, that is covered. had dinner at their restaurant, unfortunatley both the food and the service were poor, wouldn't recomend at all.
Blind Channel Resort in an incredible fusion of private accommodations blended with access to a lovely restaurant serving a succulent array of food and drink. All set in an environment of serene scenic beauty. It’s like being in a national park without being overwhelmed by the crowds. Plus Blind Channel is family owned and operated with a staff focussed on making your stay pleasant and memorable. For me personally, it was literally life saving. Each season offers its own special experience, but why wait. Go now!
Our visit to Blind Channel was on a clear November weekend, was so beautiful. You can arrange for a water taxi from Rock Bay, approximately a 20 minute Boat ride. Blind Channel is located in a protected harbour, on the Eastern side of West Thurlow Island. We went out for the boat tour around the area where we saw Dall’s porposes, sea lions, pictograph, and a beautiful sunset to top off the day. We also did 20 minute hike up to see a giant living cedar tree, it must be at least 2500 years old!! Thank you Jess and the Richter family for a wonderful weekend.
Great views, very nice property, friendly staff and great food at the restaurant. We have moored here a few times and would not hesitate to return again. Nice location, Can be pretty quick moving currents in the marina at times but allways secure
