Better than expected, especially considering the location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Microwave and refrigerator in room, but no coffee maker. The restaurant is adequate - don't expect fine dining, but you'll find something. The place is swamped by workers from the roads and Manic 5, but they are a quiet, self contained group. It's expensive but it's remote...a... More

Stopped for one night on our way to Labrador. Convenient. Gas station and convenience store on site. Restaurant, cafeteria style. Food was cafeteria style (2 choices of menus) and was average. Very courteous and friendly staff. Rooms are quite small and in need of some refresh.

this is the worst place I ever been to. the gas was $1.50 versus $1.17 everywhere else. the attendants would not speak English to me and were rude about my rudimentary French. the restaurant (if you can call it that) is a cafeteria style and horrible. we bought 3 lukewarm teas and 2 desserts and it was over $22. I... More

The Motel de l'Energie is probably the only accommodation for hundreds of kilometers in either direction on Route 389. Even so, there is certainly nothing terribly wrong with the facility. The units are clean and comfortable even though they are likely "pre-fab" buildings that were built somewhere else and brought in. The restaurant and services are fine, but be prepared... More

I stayed there fore a couple of nights. As others have pointed out, it is not cheap, and nor are the restaurant (=self-service cafe) or gas. The facilities are basic, but clean and functional. The restaurant does hearty trucker fare (mostly served lukewarm) and while they have wine, it is as basic as you can get and you can tell... More

I spent 6 days total on 2 business trips. The place is not great, but considering where you are, it's ok. The food is expensive and average at best, but what could you expect? Obviously, the gas is really expensive. There is no wifi internet, you need a cable, which I was fortunate enough to have with my company computer.... More

I don't give a "terrible" review often - in fact I do not think I ever have on Tripadvisor. I choose to be informative and a bit understanding and charitable. However - I can tell you that I would have appreciated a warning about this place, so I will share it so that others considering a visit to the Manic... More

Good, comfortable, moderately priced motel with usual amenities. Good breakfast. Gas and store adjoining motel. If we are ever in the area again, would use this motel.

“It is on a hillside with 2 levels. There is quite a lot of truck noise at the lower level, as well as snowploughs and general manoeuvering around the gas pumps and restaurant. The upper level is probably quieter, and more expensive”

“The "VIP" rooms are not organized around the gas pumps and restaurant, they are behind and therefore a bit quieter but do not think that you will be getting a VIP experience!”
