When reading this review it is important to know that we stayed in January the hottest month in Sydney. Over the 3 days we stayed here the temp was 36 to 40 degrees. This location is normally student accommodation, but "transforms" into a hotel during the 3 month uni shut down at the end of the year. Most of the...

We booked into St john's college, university of Sydney, over the new year period. The university lets out rooms during the holiday period. The room was comfortable with en suite facilities, no air con but it did have a fan. Overall it was excellent value for money and the breakfast was very good too.

Lovely place to stay, shame about the selfish people who are staying there who like to set the fire alarm of at least once if not twice a night in the early hours. They also like to make a lot of noise during the night, especially if they have been out. I know it's not the uni's fault but they...

This hotel is located just off King Street In Newtown, a street with great restaurants, shops and character. It is easy enough to find although finding somewhere to park while checking in can be a bit of a hassle. As I was staying there on the weekend I thought that parking may be free on the streets as their website...

We booked a private ensuite room at SUV over the NYE holidays, since every other hotel was charging an arm and a leg. SUV's prices were still quite hefty considering the accommodations, but it being a very busy time of year, we didn't have much choice. The location of SUV is not great, but it's not terrible. For tourists that...

I have had much worse (UniLodge, Broadway) and much better (Urbanest, Haymarket) student accommodation. Long-term if you are able to meet people you are going to have a better time because there are a lot of activities (when they don't disrupt studies), study groups, parties, and it's very conveniently placed near good value Thai restaurants. Short-term you will be disappointed...

Unless you are looking for overpriced bad lodgings do not stay here. Initial instructions to get in after hours were like an hidden objects game. The area entitled reception was not in fact reception, and had no directions to reception. I dont mind small bare rooms, after all it is student accomodation. Did the wall paint and meagre sole wall...

Booked SUV as I was enrolling at USYD and wanted to stay nearby. Paid AU$115 for the room for the night. Room was very basic but did have an adequate ensuite. Check in and check out were reasonably speedy, the staff were not overly friendly however. I had a lot of trouble trying to speak to someone both via telephone...

I stayed here over 3 nights in Jan 2012. Some friends and I were in Sydney for a wedding. On arrival the staff were very friendly. We were shown to our rooms which were quite basic but good enough. The hallways of the place did have a weird smell to them, but in the rooms it was fine. The room...

I was at Sydney University Village in January for 11 nights and it was a true nightmare! I arrive on a thrusday and the fridge stopped working a couple of hours after I moved in (35 degrees outside). There appeared to be a fault with the appliance which would cause the circuit breaker to flip. This was reported n Friday...
