I love Manga Rosa style, the rooms are big with comfortable beds. One of the best things is the view to the majestic Pacific Ocean! The property is located in the limit of Carara National Park (this park is know for being the home of tons of Scarlet Macaws), so is guarantee that you will see a Scarlet Macaw :)
Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains. What a hidden gem in the rain forest. The nature and wild life is something to see. Maccaws and Tucans nest at this hotel. I can hear howler monkeys in the distance. I will return many times...glad I found this place.
We spent our vacation on the beach in the Esterillos area further south and were looking for a place closer to the airport and with a jungle feel for our last night. We found the Manga Rosa on the Internet and made a reservation through their website. We got an email confirmation but it didn’t require a deposit, which was unusual, so I was a little worried we wouldn’t have a room when we arrived. But we were indeed expected and warmly greeted. The owner, Reinier, made sure he welcomed to us personally and was genuinely interested in our experience. We stayed in the Ocean View Balcony Deluxe. It’s a large room with an enormous closet, a lovely sink area with two basins and separate toilet room. The balcony is just wide enough for the bistro table and chairs but when you open the large glass doors you feel like you’re living outside. In fact, the shower is outside. You step through a glass door into the open shower (no hot water though!). There’s a large tree that hangs over and we saw a toucan and three scarlet macaws perched there that morning. Jesus, the manager (who is very friendly and helpful) told us monkeys visit the tree in the mornings too, but we didn’t see any while we were there. There are several nice areas to sit outside with comfy cushioned recliners and there’s a very small infinity pool. Some of the railings were in need of repair, which could be a concern but other than that the place is lovely and in good, clean condition. There’s also a quaint kitchen/bar/restaurant area serving good and plentiful food. There is strong Wi-Fi service and the air conditioner in our room cooled nicely. Pleasantly, there were no mosquitos although there were some ants in our room. But what do you expect when you have an outdoor shower and you open your doors to nature? I would much rather commune with a few ants than be exposed to pesticides. The view from our room and the common area is awe-inspiring. You can see miles and miles of shoreline in each direction and across to the Nicoya Peninsula and there’s a good view of the Tarcoles River below. We had a rainstorm in the late afternoon so the sunset was a little disappointing, but it cleared up as night fell and the entire coast below began to twinkle with lights. It was beautiful. I would definitely stay again at the Manga Rosa.…
The central pacific has many beautiful places to stay but Manga Rosa has a very warm location. The rooms are very clean and the staff that works here is very professional. The amazing breathtaking ocean views are just unique, and the restaurant service is excellent. I want to recommend this hotel to all travelers that want to stay next to the beaches and to the National park Carara. Highly recommended by Vic-Tours Costa Rica.
We arrived 27th of August 2015 to be told by the new owner that they haven't received our reservation and that he didn't have the ability to receive the payment we paid through via a reputable website. We were turned away at the door after travelling 4 hours from Santa Teresa in a truly bizarre experience had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. Avoid booking online at all costs until he has sorted his administration problems.
