We had a lovely afternoon tea with melt in the mouth scones absolutely delicious. The pub is full of old world charm and very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome by the manager, will definitely be going back.

Comfortable, clean, quiet room with good facilities. Dining room not very stylish, but the bar area was cosy and quaint with lovely little nooks & crannies to sit in. Attractive terrace outside for a drink on a warm day. Family (from Moldova) run business, owners helpful and friendly, staff less so, especially the rather dour girl on duty at breakfast...

Our sat nav took us into a housing estate dead end!!!! Once we'd found where we should be we found a quiet country hotel just a few minutes off the M40. The accommodation was a bit tired but perfectly adequate. The restaurant menu was a bit limited, especially for vegetarians, but the food was all freshly prepared and good quality..

We stayed here through buy a gift. Only booked a week before we stayed. We were met by a friendly welcoming guy who showed us to your room. The room was clean and a good size. The pub is a lovely little old fashioned pub and had a nice warm atmosphere. The girl serving behind the bar was also friendly...

Arrival was smooth and quick at check in. However the room (single room on ground floor) was not very clean on closer inspection. Not sure how often the cleaner gets rid of cobwebs but there was a large web in the corner of the room that had been there for some time and all above the wardrobe. The most important...

We had room 1 and it had everything you need in a very small space! Staff friendly , location very quite. Pleasant walks in woodland opposite the hotel. We booked including breakfast and discovered it was Continental breakfast.

We stayed here one night only whilst visiting the area, so found the general ambiance funny, but I if I’d stayed longer and paid more I would have been less amused by the Fawlty Towers shenanigans. Should have been warned by the wrangle I had with the guy on the phone who didn’t seem to understand the concepts of twin...

I attended a party here and there was only two bar staff to cater for a large well attended gathering, had to wait ages to get to the bar for a drink. Also the the card payment machine stopped working which was hugely inconvenient as they have no means for cash machines and was not close to any. The staff...

Good parking and comfortable rooms. A nice bar with real ale made this a good place to stay for a couple of days walking on the Ridgeway. Staff were, in general, friendly and helpful, although the barman was rather lugubrious! Didn't react too well when he(or the kitchen) messed up my breakfast order but the food was of a good...
