Delightful Inanna Cottage overlooks a valley & escarpment beyond. Total privacy, no other dwellings visible. On arrival we were greeted by the resident heard of alpacas. Other neighbours seen during our stay were echidna, wombat, kangaroos & various native birds.
The cottage was spacious, nice comfortable décor - a few issues in the bathroom, missing towel hook, dimmer knob broken etc. but there is soon to be a renovation. Good hot water & a spa with a view. The instructions for "Guest Information" requires a review e.g. stereo/DVD player/mini-bar did not relate to the installations. A breakfast hamper was provided for the 1st morning meal but no bacon to have with the eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes & other local produce provided.
There is lots of natural light inside & a cosy gas/log fire place. Outside is a carport & an enormous deck and fire pit on the lawn. A few minor issues which can be sorted. Would not prevent us from returning.

Stunning location, spacious cabin and very private. Great if you want to stay in with your partner and have time to reconnect. We self catered - there is nothing within walking distance in terms of restaurants, cafes or bars. The accommodation reference guide stated the place included a fully stocked mini bar but this definitely did not exist. Luckily my partner and I brought along plenty of wine to sip as the sun went down.

This was our second stay here and as we wound our way up toward The Heavens we were greeted by the ever-charming alpacas, chickens, goats, and the resident pig Kevin Bacon. When we opened the door to our Inanna Cottage, it felt like home. The mountain and valley views are stunning. Countless moments were spent sitting on the verandah in the sun with cups of tea just staring in wonder.
We spent a gorgeous day on the Kangaroo River kayaking and had a picnic lunch at Bendeela. The Heavens truly is a magical place to reconnect and unwind. We will definitely stay here again.

Once your car is on Paddington Lane, that stretch of road going up the hill to get to each cottage is unmaintained dirt road with lots of pot holes. Make sure your car can handle that. The cottage was very comfortable and the view of the mountains was incredible. The breakfast hamper included for day 1 was very generous. Communications from the host were very good. The crockery in the kitchen were very dirty - Frying pan and pots looked like they hadn't been washed properly for a long time. The coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets in the kitchen are well-past their expiry date (expired at least a year ago).

We spent 3 days at the heavens. Lovely outstanding view from the Inanna Cottage.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and could not fault.
Self contained with a breakfast hamper provided which lasted us 2 days.
Little touches like wine, chocolates etc provided.
If you love wildlife it abounds at "The Heavens" the alpacas would venture up each afternoon in front of our cottage to feed. Kangaroos would venture out at night and this was a delight to watch from our verandah.
Great having a washing machine as was able to use and get all clothes washed and ready for the 2nd week of our holiday. No dryer and only a small clothes airer provided. We had some rope so was able to rig up a clothes line under the carport.
No oven only 4 burner cooktop. BBQ provided on verandah. Microwave, toaster, kettle etc provided.
We were able to relax and enjoyed a BBQ under the stars and followed later with a fire in the fire pit provided out front.
Overall a wonderful stay.

Having stayed in the Aurora cottage back in 2003 and being totally blown away by the luxury, eye for detail, little extras and amazingly friend service we were very disappointed this time around.
Putting aside the run-in I had with the owner Jan the week prior when she SCREAMED abuse at me on the phone for daring to question why my friends refund money hadn't gone through (my sister stayed two weeks prior and unfortunately they had a blackout - no heating, power, flushing toilets or running water - Fair Trading agree a refund is in order!) As it turned out, the refund was given but the damage was done - WHO SCREAMS AT CUSTOMERS THESE DAYS? Yes, would have pulled out at this point if I hadn't already paid my deposit (non refundable within 28 days). I did ring Jan again prior to my stay and requested an apology for the previous screamed abuse which she reluctantly and sarcastically spat out. (!)
So, with some trepidation but DESPERATE to have a nice time as it was our first time away without the children in 7 years we travelled to Kangaroo Valley. It was immediately apparent that the cabins had been neglected, little things like holes which hadn't been patched, although tidy, not particularly clean, BBQ couldn't be used as it was too dirty, pots/pans needed to be replaced, kettle had obviously been boiled dry once or twice before meaning the noise it made when it boiled made it difficult to have a conversation while in the same room. Also, my husband noticed the toilet seat dirty when he lifted the seat. Little things like the out of date "visitors information" book that looked like it had seen better days (ripped, cracked) etc such small things when you list it here but cumulatively showed a distinct lack of care. Certainly not "luxury".
Good things: very comfortable bed, very roomy, great view, loved the spa (which we washed before we used it) private, good heating, loved the complimentary breakfast, tealights, essential oil burner, books for borrowing. VERY PEACEFUL!
We were so disappointed to see the state of the heavens - it could be sooo goood! We realised that the owners struggle with cleanliness when we saw the state of the office that "the Heavens" is run from - DISORGANISED, SMELLED OF CAT URINE, MESSY, DIRTY, RUN DOWN.
So, although this place could be great, unfortunately we will not be returning. Nearby Berry looked very appealing we might try that town next time.

Our family of 4 stayed at Elysium cottage in September 2015. The use of the word 'luxury' to describe the cottage is misleading. It is very dated, and in need of a thorough clean.
The living room had an old dirty shag rug which looked terrible. The rafters in living area are full of cobwebs.
The bathroom had a lot of mould on the blinds and ceiling. The taps are old. There is a good washing machine available for use which is handy.
The two double beds were comfortable and sheets were clean. Also a travel cot provided. The bedroom doors would not close. This was so inconvenient as far as having to be quiet while our baby was sleeping!
Out on the deck the hedge is overgrown, prohibiting any view of the surrounding area. Our kids enjoyed looking at the goats and alpacas on the farm. Also on the deck is a BBQ which is so dirty and rusted I would not dream of cooking on it!
Overall very disappointing accommodation and I could never recommend it.

We were booked to stay at the Elysium for 3 days but within about an hour we were ready to leave, and ended up doing just that the next morning. The owner refused to entertain refunding any of our money but my self respect wouldn't allow me to stay any longer in this excuse for what they laughingly called luxury accommodation. When told that we couldn't get the ABC on the television Jan, the owner, told us "we don't watch the ABC". We couldn't put the blinds down in the bathroom, we had to reset the clocks, the wine and chocolates we were told would be there on arrival were nowhere to be seen.
The so-called reception area, where it supposed to be welcoming is a disgrace. Boxes and cobwebs everywhere like some cheap 50's film noir set. When I approached Jan to tell her that we were not staying, that we couldn't stay in this place a moment longer, her first words were "well, I'm refunding any money". No attempt to try and understand. Then her follow up comment, which sums up her attitude - "most of our guests are very satisfied", meaning she is actually not very interested in you as a guest at all. In short, Jan couldn't have cared less.
We got in our car the next day (we'd have gone as soon as we arrived but we were both tired and it was getting late) and went to a place that we know provides everything Jan doesn't.
There are plenty of other places nearby that are cheaper and more relaxing, more enjoyable, and with owners who actually give a damn. Just avoid this place. You'll find great reviews from us at other places we've stayed at but my advise is to avoid this place.

I can't comment on the other 2 cottages but Elysium was not what I expected and certainly not luxurious. For a start all the taps need replacing - a little thing but extremely annoying when you have to struggle with them. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy. The small verandah is dominated by a big and dirty looking barbeque and any view is blocked by scraggy bushes. It is certainly not worth the $250+ a night.
