After traveling throughout Belize and staying a few nights in San Ignacio, my boyfriend and I learned of El Guacamayo from David's Adventures in San Ignacio. We decided to give it a shot...and we're very happy we did. The co-owner, Larry, picked us up in San Ignacio to drive us a mere 20 minutes up into the hills to the...

Picture a thatched roof jungle cabana set on a beautiful hilltop over looking the Macaw River. There are parrots and iguanas in the tree tops and scenic jungle views. You will be personally brought out to the camp from town and must cross the river by canoe to reach the camp. This is a great place to experience the true...

Our family stayed with Larry, David and his family for 3 nights. We had intended to stay just one, but our experience was so relaxing and enjoyable that we stayed. Great healthy food (most organically grown at the farm), clean and comfortable beds (the only good bed we found in our month long vacation in Belize). I absolutely loved drinking...

We were looking for a jungle experience in Belize on our honeymoon and we found it at El Guacamayo Campground. This place was exactly what we were looking for. In the middle of nowhere and far far away right next to an ancient maya site in the Belizean djungle. Larry, who owns the place made us feel really welcome and...

I spent 3 months in Belize last year, living in Belize City and traveling throughout the country with friends on the weekends. After having been all over the country, I can honestly say that the Guacamayo Jungle Camp was my (and my traveling companions) favorite place to stay. Larry was an amazing host - he picked us up right down...

We stumbled upon this place - unfortunately because we would have loved to spend far more time here. THIS is Belize. Breathtaking scenery, wonderful, clean, simple accomodations, super helpful guides - you just could not ask for a better place to stay and experience some of Belize NOT on the tourist route.

I was referred to El Guacamayo through friends and just had to check it out myself. A friend of mine, a local Belizean and I, visited the camp for two nights and enjoyed every minute! The best part was watching the sunset and stars from the chairs on the hill! :) If you have the time to get away from...

Hi, My son David and I stayed at El Guacamayo and David's Adventure Tours on our recent visit to Belize and Guatamala. We have known David for many years and always visit him at his place on the Macaw River upstream from San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize. The price is right for anyone wanting to get off the beaten path. Good...

I only stayed 3 nights but would love to have stayed longer. I suspect that just getting there is an adventure for most. Even though it really isn't that far from San Ignacio, it is still off the grid, and definitely in the jungle. I loved being able to chill in a hammock swing and hear only birdsongs and breeze...

El Guacamayo was quite a unique experience! It's for those who are looking for a genuine Belizean experience without all the hassle of the inner city. The campground offers very clean accommodations at a great price. Rooms are clean cabanas (no electricity at the time of this writing) and there is a very large (and surprisingly spotless) shower outdoors that...
