From the greeting by Giovanni to the to the service from Kenny this place was amazing. Yes the road to the lodge is rocky and at times scary but the destination makes it worthwhile. The central lodge, where the dining takes places is an open air hut overlooking the river. From the tables or at the railing, take time to...

So much to do and see and a fantastic location. Lodges couldn't have been better, they were well set up, very clean, had lots of character and a balcony with 2 hammocks overlooking the gorge and river and surrounded by the noises of the jungle - amazing! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The guides were extremely knowledgeable...

Torn between 4 star and 5 star......It's 4 star if you compare to luxurious resorts....that is not what this is.....but it is 5 star for its environment, jungle beauty, magnificent birds, simple, comfortable, and immaculate lodging, good food served in an outdoor setting, and the most wonderful staff you will ever meet. There are ample activities within the area from...

We (family of 4) were there for 3 nights and stayed in the river facing suite. The suite is very spacious with two sofas which turn into twin beds which was a very comfortable sleeping arrangement for our children. We had our private deck from which we had a fantastic view of the Macal river and the mountains. Managers and...

Black Rock Lodge is an eco-lodge, 100% off grid. However, you'd never know it by the upscale accommodations! The room we stayed in was clean and spacious with a large deck, complete with hammocks, overlooking the Macal River. The food is average and reasonably priced, with adult dinners being a flat fee of $22 and kid meals ranging from $5-$7.50....

My husband and I spent six nights at Black Rock lodge. This is such a special place. The staff is so helpful and friendly, and after a couple of days they made us feel like family. There were so many interesting people there from all over the world, and we loved having dinner with different people every night. The tours...

My wife and I spent six days here in Dec. 2016, and we wish we could have stayed another month. Everything about this place is first class. The cabins, which have a fabulous view down onto the Macal River and across a steep gorge, are comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. All of the managers and staff were extremely friendly, eager...

This is a spectacular place, in beautiful surroundings, miles of trails, wonderful adventures to sign up for, great food, and some of the best guides in Belize. You'll meet the other wonderful guests at dinners. Truly enlightened and delightful owner treats his staff so well that he's overwhelmed with applications, including from some of the best guides in the country....

We stayed in a River view Cabin King room which was fantastic! Others who stayed here weren't prepared for the type of room (no TV or A/C) and had concerns at our dinners but no one didn't like this place. If you're a birder there is hardly a better place you could be. The guides here are the most knowledgeable...

I stayed at Black Rock during a one week yoga retreat. The staff were wonderful, the food amazing (big portions, good selection), rooms are clean and there are on site and off site activities available. It doesn't matter if you book alone or stay as part of a group. Airport transportation available. I am not a birder, buts it seems...
