This hotel was in a beautiful location next to a river which I expected to be smaller, so I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely sweet and helpful , the food at the restaurant was excellent- extremely happy with every meal I had. The rooms were spacious and very pretty.
Our family of 3 stayed at Mahogany Hall for almost one month in July 2021. The location on the Mopan river is phenomenal. The hotel itself is wonderful. From the huge wooden door at the entrance to the hotel to our oversized room so nicely furnished with an incredibly comfortable bed, it offered us everything to keep us comfortable and safe during our stay. The housekeeping service was outstanding. We were able to get to know the owner Richard, Marsha, and Jose. It's easy to get to San Ignacio from Bullet Tree via multiple available taxis (there is a dedicated taxi service that goes back and forth between the two towns) and we were also able to explore quite a bit of Bullet Tree Falls itself walking along Paslow Falls Road and Bullet Tree Road. My entire family loves…
We absolutely loved our stay, from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with smiles and a welcome drink. Ms Marsha was helpful throughout the booking process and Jose provided excellent service with a smile - they both seemed to truly enjoy their job which is a testament to the ownership. We loved the size of the hotel and it just oozes character. We took advantage of dinner and the service from Jose was excellent, along with the chef's attention to detail and great meal that was prepared for us. There is river access and the people swimming and floating by seemed to be having a blast, we will definitely try floating down the river next time. If you want a lot a unique stay from a place where the employees care about where they work and treat the guests with kindness then…
We had such a lovely time during our stay here. The room we booked had a broken AC but they were very accommodating and gave us the choice to stay there or switch to a similar room with the AC functioning. We chose the latter and it was great, with gorgeous views of the river. Not really a fan of the VERY thorough turn down service. They were putting things away in places that were difficult for us to find after. On that note, the service and attentiveness of the staff were out of this world. Keith gave us some great local pointers and Marsha and Veronica helped us book some wonderful excursions with local tour guides. If you want to get the real flavor of San Ignacio you definitely want to stay at Mahogany Hall.
Our stay here was awesome we felt welcomed and at home. The property is on the banks of the Mopan River and offers a tranquil atmosphere for relaxing, tubing, or bird watching. I highly recommend this place!
Mahogany Hall is delightful. It is a beautiful property right on the river. You can sit in the little restaurant or on the balcony and watch the ever changing views of the river. We ate in the hotel and the food was good. The staff were all wonderful. Friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Next time I would hire a car as it is about 3 miles outside San Ignacio where there are lots of restaurants and things to do.
We had an excellent time here. It's beautiful, relaxing and right on the river that you can swim in. Bring water shoes. Jose was very attentive and made excellent drinks. He made us feel right at home, as did the rest of the staff. It is a little bit out of the way from San Ignacio, but we preferred that as it made for a more relaxed, quiet forest vibe. It was easy enough to get into town and the tours were willing to pick us up directly for a small fee. Coming back from a long day tour we were able to have a nice meal and a relaxing swim in the river. Room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.
With Belize prices running high during the peak winter holiday season, we were fortunate to have found a large suite at Mahogany Hall for our teenage-oriented family of five. (Room #8 was ample for us - it is above the owners office on the top floor, 4 flights up, with northern and southern views above the tree line) Beyond the welcoming cocktails, friendly staff (Marsha), expansive shared space (pool, entry hall and deck, seating along the Mopan River), the best kept secret is the tubing along the wide Mopan River. Grab one of 4 tubes from the front desk (Jose) and walk up the road 15 minutes to put in just above the rapids (beyond the row of orange trees dotting the road). This will offer you a 30-minute run and dump you in front of the hotel. For more intrepid travelers, you…
Mahogany Hall was INCREDIBLE! The location is off the beaten path hugged against the Mopan River. Once you arrive, you are greeted with friendly faces and a beautiful Mahogany foyer that opens up to a gorgeous waterfall pool, a lush garden, and the river. The amenities, service, and condition of the hotel is impeccable. The Monkey Suite is a must! You’ll have a private balcony that opens up to a view of the river (the best view of the whole hotel). The jacuzzi tub was also a really nice touch after a long day of hiking, swimming, and adventuring. Marsha, the hotel manager, was really knowledgeable and helpful in setting up last minute tours. I can’t wait to return to Mahogany Hall!
The place looks like paradise as you wake up listening to different birds and to the sound of water running down the river. Only 8 rooms, the perfect place to rest and connect with nature. Everybody working at Mahogany Hall is extremely polite and welcoming. Marsha Wite helped us with the reservation and it was great to put a face to a name in an email. You have to have a car if you stay here as you are not in a walking distance to San Ignacio. The rooms were very clean and AC worked well. We did not have breakfast nor dinner at the hotel though we did drink the complementary coffee which was delicious.
