This hotel provided acceptable overnight accommodation in connection with an evening business commitment in the town centre. Overall I would not rate it higher than OK. The bed mattress was very firm - bordering on hard / uncomfortable. Normally I can sleep anywhere although the bed in this hotel did not give me a good nights rest. The room was...

A great little hotel to stay in Berkhamsted. We were in the area to go to the Gatsby restaurant for dinner (a great place). This hotel is the opposite end of the high st to the Gatsby but is still just a 10-15min stroll down the high street The hotel itself has friendly welcoming staff, the rooms are quirky in...

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. It is a old hotel with nice rooms. The staff is very friendly. Room are spacious, clean, big bed and a decent bathroom. It is a bit hard to find as the entrance is in the back not at the mainstreet. There is a restaurant + bar but that is not...

Hi Rifvisje Thanks for taking the time to post a review from your business trip stay. We're delighted you were happy with the room being spacious and clean - and whilst The Kings Arms is recommended for Lunch and Dinner, it's only a short walk down the highstreet and this also offers a chance to get out to see Berkhamsted...

We stayed at the hotel while visiting relatives in Berkhamsted. First of all, the downside is finding it. The location maps show it on the High Street, when in fact it is hidden behind the Giggling Squid Restaurant. That aside it is a very pleasant small boutique hotel. Our ensuite room was spacious, well maintained with a large comfortable double...

I stayed here with my husband before we travelled to London for an event. We struggled to find the car park initially but once we did we were not disappointed. Our room was upgraded to Executive as the check in lady confirmed the hotel was quite that particular night. The room was spacious with lots of light and a large...

Hi Wannabe1day Thanks for the review. We're pleased to hear you were a fan of the hotel when you stayed. Being very central it can sometimes be difficult to find whilst driving down the High Street - but we're pleased you found us in the end. We hope you'll return in the future. Not sure how this qualifies as an Hotel more like as B & B as there is no bar , no room service , breakfast only semi-self service cafe and no mini-bar / fridge in the rooms ! Nice welcoming staff , clean room and very comfortable bed . Good convenient village center location and easy parking . Breakfast was...

I stayed here for one night and was very impressed by this hotel. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were really comfy, I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return one day. The only small criticism is that the door lock...

Check-in was fast & friendly. Lovely size room, excellent bathroom & lovely big tv. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, far superior to the hotel chain that prides itself on its beds! Lovely and quiet & a secure car park only a few footsteps away. Tucked away just behind the high street but a short...

I stay often at the Penny Farthing in Berkhamsted and always look forward to it. The staff are friendly and remember who you are, the rooms are clean and have a lovely boutique feel. Although I stay here for business, I would more than happily recommend this for leisure and the train to London is just £20 off peak return...

The hotel was tricky to find as it is on the main road but the sign is very small so despite it coming up on the sat nav I went past a couple of times before realising.
