My brother in law and his partner were visiting and we were showing them around Raglan when we happened to notice a sign for wood fired pizzas. What a great decision to go up the long curvy driveway it was. They serve up vegan pizzas only, which might turn a few people off, but it shouldn't because they were excellent!...

On the drive out of Raglan, on the way to Whale Beach, we discovered this gem of a boutique retreat property high on the hillside overlooking the dramatically beautiful West Coast. This is one alternative place reminiscent of Northern California retreats. There's a surf school, yoga center and you can get holistic bodywork. Places to stay/sleep include a bach, studio,...

Had the best 3 days staying at Solscape after hearing about the surf at ngarunui beach and manu bay. Amazing position up on the hill with cafe and decking overlooking the bay. I sat there for hours entertained by the waves in the sun and during a storm. Food and drink served is something special with some produce grown on...

We loved our stay in the Tipi forest it was only for one night but was a cool experience! The Tipi was nice and clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable! We went prepared with bug repellent but didn't have any problems with bugs and no mosquitos not even one! It was a peaceful area nestled in the bush and...

We stayed at Solscape over the long weekend. Its name truely speaks for itself, such a grounding, incredible place, situated right at the edge of Karioi's lovely bush. A place to come home to yourself. Solscape has no certain 'type' of people, but if your a square and can't see past the city lights and its white collar ways, perhaps...

The solscape offers a huge variety of accomodation. We spend a night on the tent side which got a very nice open kitchen. The cool ways of sleeping AT solscape and the very ecological mindset isn't the best part. The view from the frontside to the ocean can not be beaten by anything i experienced in a hostel before.

We stayed in the earth domes and had the best nights sleep. They have heaters in the domes and good blankets, so you don't need to worry about being cold. We loved sitting out on the main deck overlooking the ocean. We ate a delicious breakfast at the cafe as well and took surf lessons from Solscape. The vibe here...

We have just experienced two nights at Solscape where we stayed in the four person Tipi in the forest. The Solscape website fairly describes what to expect so we had no suprises on our arrival. The forest is a magical place to escape to and you feel very disconnected (in a good way) from the main camp area. It’s a...

Stayed within the camping grounds and pitched a tent. The resort is very eco-minded and rustic, showers were mostly cold and the outdoor cooking facilities were fairly average. The main building was very nice and comfortable and could accommodate large groups. Fantastic views and chill

Thanks for your review. When we get several consecutive days of grey weather the solar heated showers in the Camping area struggle to get up to temperature. The solar heated showers in the caboose area facilities would have been hot as that system has electric backup. Unfortunately summer is a bit late to arrive this year.

Myself and my partner have spent the Christmas and New Year period at solscape in an unpowered van site. On first impressions Solscape seems quirky and relaxing with amazing views from reception. The view was definitely the highlight with a nice deck to sit on. As for the rest of this site, very crowded and over rated. The van and...
