A big thank you to all the staff at AKS PORTO HELI HOTEL!
My main concern was the beach :( It is very unclean, cigarette ends everywhere, plastic and rubbish. This was disappointing as we told reception. There was no attempt to clean it and we were there a week. The girl working at the beach bar wasn’t aware of this being done. Given they capitalise on their lovely beach in advertising, they need to take responsibility for their environment. The beach is small and gritty sand, so it needs to do better at looking appealing. Do not currently come for the beach. The pool is however lovely. Until I see a photo of the beach clean or someone doing this I don’t have faith it will be done.
Some of the ‘Garden View’ rooms are located on higher floors with limited views and you may look out onto the concrete second level balcony jutting out from the building. However, we could see the sea which was lovely, and preferred this room compared to one at ground level as the hotel did offer to move us.
Overall a wonderful stay made better by fantastic, friendly staff but a mismanaged beach which needs to be addressed urgently by managers because this lets the hotel and its reputation down for me which is a pity, especially for the environment they celebrate on Facebook but are currently neglecting.
I don't recommend this hotel in any respect, maybe for the view.
and we stopped for 2 days in the splendid Porto Heli, excellent welcome from the ladies at reception who immediately assigned us a beautiful room overlooking the sea and swimming pool which we immediately took advantage of even though it was April, the hall is really large and elegant with large windows overlooking total sea as well as the bar and restaurant. , the breakfast buffet was varied and of excellent quality, we didn't use the restaurant, we really enjoyed it and we recommend it to anyone who goes on holiday in these parts
The pool area is clean and the loungers and umbrellas are in good condition. The pool bar looks OK, but I think the prices for cocktails are excessive. The waiter couldn't understand us because he didn't speak English and sent a colleague. I watched them making fun of us behind us. That's not only bad style but also inappropriate in a hotel, no matter how many stars it has.
We would choose this hotel again for a few days. However, I must say that the corridors looked very spartan, but that's not where you live. I felt it lacked some ambience.
Initially, we booked a room through the site for 2 nights. It was clearly stated that there was a possibility of free room upgrading on availability. While there were available upgraded rooms on booking.com and in 2 days we received 2 times the reply that there was no upgrade possibility due to full availability. The first night we noticed by the automatic lighting off the night that there were many rooms with pool view that were available.
Secondly, the air conditioning was configured to look opposite the beds. The result was that we had to cover with the mattress to avoid cold air - the possibility of regulating the temperature was also difficult.
Third morning average. Sunday morning and fried mushrooms that should never be in the buffet.
Fourth, after cleaning service we found that the room smelled badly and we discovered a big cockroach in our room.
In plus of the hotel the nice and large pool
