Murten is a well preserved small medieval town on the southern shores of Lake Murten. It is a picturesque old town of alleyways and arcades, encircled by an ancient but fully intact town wall that can be walked in its entirety. The Murtenhof & Krone,...More

We went at a perfect time a year. Booked a normal room but they upgraded us (for no extra charge) to a lake side view. View was spectacular (was a nice sunny evening). The Hotel staff was friendly and spoke English very well. Ate at...More

We stayed in a roomy suite for a couple nights with a beautiful view of the lake. The location is central and you can step right out your door into the medieval town for shopping and restaurants. There is a Co-op store a 2 minute...More

Yes there is free parking, about 8 spots (first come, first served, so hopefully you arrive when one is free). You need to get a key from the desk as each spot has a chain across it (till you unlock it). When you leave for the day, just lock up your spot and it will be there for you when you return. There is public parking very close by (20 feet away, tops), but I am unsure how much that costs. The hotel could tell you, though. All the staff speak excellent English. Enjoy! Super neat unique hotel!
