We stayed here as we were passing through on our way from David to Panama City - it's a good halfway point to break up the journey. This hotel was a true surprise. The architecture, layout, and quality of the rooms and details was fantastic. The children loved the layout of the pool (even though the water was a bit...

We had a reservation and were given our room key but room had not been cleaned so we had to wait 45 minutes for the slow but thorough cleaning to get done. Wifi okay but not overly strong/fast. We had no hot water that night nor the next morning, so showers were brief. Swim in pool was okay but no...

Had a one night stopover in Santiago enroute from Boca Brava to Panama City. Our family of 4, (2 grown children) loved it! Super big room, excellent beds, shower was nice and big, hot water. We enjoyed an afternoon at the pool, awesome dinner. The room was $88 USD, which was the least we have paid on this 3 week...

The hotel was very beautiful. The receptionist was not very helpful and we had no hot water the first night of our stay. There is no coffee maker, hair dryer or iron/ironing board available in the room. The room was big, but sparsely furnished. Bed was comfortable, but we got little sleep. The area is very noisy. When we arrived there...

Hotel is excellent, clean, new, very good food at th restaurant. Staff is kind and attentive. Stayed for work only 1 night, twice. Only observation is the price: it is expensive for what you get. However, i believe it is the best hotel in town: small and cozy.

I stopped here with my parents and sister for one night while driving from Panama City to Boquete. Staff is very friendly, but not much English is spoken here. We still got by with our very broken Spanish. Room was clean and very comfortable bed; nice big hammock with a view of the pool and air conditioning. We ate at...

Rooms were clean and the woman at the front desk was nice, however, we were there on New Year's Eve and the restaurant was closed for both dinner and breakfast the next morning. We were not aware this would be the case, and ended up having to drive to another hotel on the outskirts of Santiago as it was the...

My girlfriend and I stayed here during our trip to Panama last spring and had an overall fantastic experience. The room was spacious, clean and up to date. Hotel utilities are clean and taken care of. Staff is nice and helpful. We recall one incident with the lady in the pool bar who was too busy talking on the phone...

Great hotel. Centrally located, just off the pan american. The rooms are big and comfortable, very spacious, clean and quiet. You room had two oversized queen beds, along with a nice couch and coffee table and bar fridge. Swimming pool is great, with a swim up bar in a little courtyard. This was the first stop once our bags were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This is a classical hotel in Santiago, with the best rate and the best location! It is located right on Via Interamericana, by Mc Donald's - very easy to find and everybody knows where we are! Hotel Gran David offers the "BEST DEAL" in Santiago, it has the best price for very good rooms. We have remodeled rooms and bathrooms (new tiles), LCD, cable TV, duvet covers (we love this system because it permits our guests to sleep on a clean bed), hot water, and free wireless. Also, our restaurant is great! Our breakfasts are very famous (try our tortillas) and lunch menus at only $3.50. Super cheap! We look forward to receiving you! ... more   less
