My husband and I stayed at the Premium section from Feb 21-28 and we were amazed from the moment when arrived at the personal attention and attention to detail the resort staff provide. They are friendly, helpful and always smiling. The room was as pictured, clean and ready when we arrived. The grounds are kept immaculate. The beach is beautiful, but we did not spend much time there as the premium section is at the far end away from the washroom and beach restaurant/bar and we found those facilities to be VERY busy. The pool area is great, lots of chairs, clean washrooms, tasty restaurant and bar. The pool staff are very attentive. The lobby bar provided very delicious coffees and cocktail. The Premium section is very quiet, relaxing and line up free! We walked to Playa Pesquero several times over the week to visit the vendors in the main lobby and in the busy, lively pool area but we were very happy to return to the calm and quiet of the premium section. The butlers took care of our dinner reservations, keeping our mini fridge stocked, handling our room services and answered any questions we had. The drivers on the resort are quick and friendly and are willing to take you anywhere on the resort. We did not use this service too much, as we enjoyed walking, but there were a few times that we took advantage to beat the heat. We can not say enough about the wonderful staff at this resort. We are plaanning to return to this fantastic resort as it provides nothing but relaxation. Thank You to each and every staff at the Playa Pesquero Premium for making our vacation so wonderful.

Beach was the best !Ocean was calm and clear ,sand white and soft to touch, clean, with some natural shade from the trees and enough huts;even though it was the highest season beach was not too noisy, but to get the lounging chairs you had to come early enough to reserve them! If you wanted to hang out around a beautiful pool, than there were enough chairs available there.
Amenities and activities available at all times for free and entertainment were good.
Rooms were outdated but clean and spacious.
The wait for the fresh grill(being omelette in the morning, fish or meats in the evening) was too long at the buffet, but if you figure out a plan and are not only there for those (hot plates had good food too),you can manage good food without too much wait.
I have been at many Cuban resorts and this one in 4 stars’ category wins for best a la carte restaurants when it comes to quality, presentation and taste of food as well as the authenticity of the theme of the restaurant when it comes to the decor(4 free ones you can book was enough not to have to deal with the buffet wait too much)
Set up of restaurants, shops, desserts and drinks bars, sports courts, pool and other amenities made it feel like a little town in a resort.
Resort is flat, but large enough to offer some movement and different spots for hanging out and strolling, making it more fun in an all-inclusive setting.
Staff is trying really hard, considering this is a huge resort with a lot of guests and spread out amenities and lack of some of the resources.
Set up worked great for my boyfriend and I, and we would come back again as a couple or with our children (12 and 10 yrs old)!
*As a tip to the management :if you could increase number of beach loungers, set up more grill stations at the buffet and extend to have more servers at the beach bar,you would get way more positive reviews and higher ratings*

Our family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 children aged 5 and 3 loved our holiday at Hotel Playa Pesquero. The food was delicious with lots of variety at the buffet restaurants as well as the a la carte options. La Gondola, the Italian restaurant was our personal favourite a la carte option. The coffee bar was terrific. The Kids Club was great and led by a truly exceptional person, Anita, who exuded love for the children and for her job. The resort is huge and quite spread out which meant lots of walking. We walked about 400 meters from our room which was on the outer perimeter to the lobby. The free form pool is the biggest we have seen and it was always sparkling and inviting. The water ballet show was incredible. The rooms were very bright and spacious. There was something for everyone in our group and each person, individually and collectively, had a fabulous holiday in Cuba. This hotel is by far the best one on Playa Pesquero, confirmed by guests from the other hotels who came to our beautiful beach every day. We witnessed 4 weddings on the beach during our stay! We highly recommend this hotel!

Let me start from noting that we ve been to Cuba's all inclusive resorts 8 times.
The last 2 times we went on vacation were to DR. We decided that we would trade DR food quality for Cuban beach and waters. Well, that's exactly what happened.

Playa Pesquero Hotel is quite large and is bigger than most Cuban resorts we have visited. It is actually well planned but the first couple of times you walk from your room to main buffet it might look like you are walking for 15 min.
Rooms: We had 2 rooms, 1 a regular and 1 golden plus room. Not much of a difference except you get 2 bottles of booze upon arrival and later check out. Some can say that rooms are large and bright some may say that rooms are very dated, It depends on what kind of person are you. Dont look into details too much and you ll be ok. I have been in much better and much worse rooms. Our maid was great, fridge was stocked daily. One note, if you need more water you ll have to be in the room when they come, otherwise 1 bottle or water per day.
Beach: As expected, beautiful white sand, turquoise water, some snorkeling spots. Not much compared to the reef next to Paraiso.
Food: Hit or miss as it was stated here many times. You ll never go hungry but nothing gourmet. A la carte restos are a better choice than main buffet. You have 2 24h snack bars. Beer garder serves more like snack sizes bites and the other one you can get larger plates. Our kid loved ice cream shop, well, us too :)
Staff: Mostly very nice bit some look very serious and not too happy. 1 thing that made us upset was the constant volume of carts driving by. Some with passengers and some just wtih staff, Listen, I understand that they have to move around a lot but you have to move on the side of the walkway for them to pass you and out of 50 times we ve done this, only 1 driver smiled and said gracias,
Front desk is where we had issues, not all but most of the staff there looked overwhelmed and was not very accommodating.
1 more thing, the night shows were not that bad, kids seemed to enjoy the kids show and had fun on most nights.
We rate this resort 4 out 5.
Great beach, ok food, good staff, beautiful grounds, fun for kids. And above all great memories.

Great last minute vacation. Super glad we booked here.

First time at pp. We really liked this resort. Staff were friendly and professional, the room (1620) was comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well, and very clean. You could tell throughout the entire resort that love and care to maintenance/grounds was the number one priority along with customer service. While the resort was on the bigger size, the walkways are well lit and accessible. There are also carts that you can jump on to bring you to another area.

Food: while this is Cuba, you wont starve. I am a very picky eater and have certain food allergies. I gained 5 lbs. even though I walked 10 km every day. A la cartes are fantastic, the buffet you will find something you like. We did omelettes in the buffett for breakfast (with churros), for lunch we went to either the buffet, beach restaurant or the 24 hour restaurant. For dinner we had 4 a ala cartes (our favourite was the seafood) then went out for dinner twice (Yenibooms and Don Pepe). Oh and always went to the buffett for chocolate mousse (probably where the 5 extra pounds came from) then just after to the lobby bar for drinks (hubbies favourite was the snow bunnies).

Thank you to Yadira at customer service, Fonzie - front bellboy, our maid (oh gosh I am sorry I cant remember her name but starts with an A) she was amazing, Leticia in the buffett, the snow bunny artist, the attendant at the fitness centre, Madeline at the pool bar that we named our Purple Maddies after and Leon the activities coordinator. Highly recommend this resort. Its a great choice.

This was our 2nd trip to the Premium section and our 14th visite to the Playa Pesquero Hotel.

We were traveling with our 83 year old mother.

Playa Pesquero is a very large resort so a lot of walking to be expected! But the Premium section is perfect for anyone with limited mobility and the guest in the premium section can get a cart to go anywhere in the regular section.

Unpon arrival at the main hotel lobby a personne from guest relation greeted us with a welcome cocktail.

Afterwards we were taken to the Premium lobby for a quick check in.

Rooms
We had two suites in the same building with my mother on the ground floor and us on the second floor.

The suites are very large with a very comfortable King bed, a beautiful bathroom with a shower and a jacuzzi bath, separeted toilet and bidet and a outdoor shower room. There is also a living space, a walk in closet and a very large balcony.

Food
Just before our trip I had read bad reviews about the food in Cuba.
What a relief and surprise to see the variety, the freshness and quality of the dishes that were offert to us. There are so many restaurants to choses from. Our favorite are the Romantico, the Gondola and the Los Almacigos (Premium section).
For lunch we would usually eat at the pool restaurant El Manglar (Premium section).
And in the afternoon we would go to the beer garden La Pipa for a cold beer and tapas.

Beach
When you get to the ocean there is the beautiful beach of Playa Pesquero. It is so breathtaking and quiet with lots of Palapas.

In the room the beach towels are changed daily.

The butler
If you need restaurant reservations, a bottle of wine for the room, spa reservations and a lot more just ask the butler.
Our butler Edgar was fabulous!

The Internet access was amazing on all the site.

We highly recommend the Premium section for the 24h 7 butler service, the private pool and lobby bar and a more relaxing vibe.

Just returned from first visit to this resort, my wife , my brother , my sister in law and myself visited Jan 25 to Feb 8 2020. There are pro's and cons to the resort, but mainly pro's. My wife and my room # 2617 was in the best condition and cleanest that we have had in any of visits to any resort we have visited in Cuba, a shout out to Dunia who kept it that way, it was a pleasure to meet and get to know you. It was however a noisy room to be in as it was right adjacent to the neighboring hotel and a lot of days we could not sit out on the balcony because of blaring music from that hotel. Because of the US embargo causing food supply issues, sometimes the food variety was repetitive but I did not see much difference from previous Cuban visits. The mahi mahi in the smaller buffet that was cooked for me was always fantastic. We mainly ate most breakfasts and dinners in the smaller of the buffets, always trying to get in particular servers sections, special thanks to Elizabeth and Clara for their great care and conversation in the mornings and Tanner in the evenings. As other reviewers have stated , this is a large resort so lots of walking.
Pro's-
Staff
Snorkeling
Cleanliness (best public restrooms I've seen)
Cons-
Getting a lounger (had to be up and at beach by 530 am to get a good chair and location )
Big resort means Long line ups
I would definitely return, but get a quieter room location.

My wife and I have been frequent visitors to this special resort since December 2002. It has been such a pleasure to watch this jewel mature over the years. We have been fortunate to have had the ability to travel to many destinations over our 29 years together. In our opinion there is not a better experience to enjoy than the smiling efficient staff and beauty of Playa Pesquero. You will be welcomed each day with friendly smiles from the gardeners, housekeepers, buffet and bar staff. The front desk and guest services work hard to meet and exceed your expectations. We stayed in the Premium section adults only for the first time and although it is a little more expensive you will be very impressed, Each unit has a large living / bedroom with a walk-in closet, and safe. The room has a flat screen television, refrigerator, couch, chairs and ceiling fan. There is a nice balcony with wicker chairs and table. There is also a full size padded lounge. There is a double sink, whirlpool tub and shower. There is also an outdoor enclosed shower. The Premium side has it's own enclosed air conditioned restaurant with menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The friendly servers ensure that you will enjoy your meals. Of course you can also go to the buffet restaurant where as always the staff are going to do their best make you happy. You will have a dedicated butler to assist in making reservations and helping to make any special requests you may have. There are also buggy drivers assigned to premium guests with a simple phone call to 5555. The Premium side has their own swimming pool and spa. Of course the regular side pools are available for everyone to enjoy We enjoyed the Italian, Cuban, Caletones and Romantico ala carte restaurants. The wi-fi is available and is free for your stay. If the time expires the the phone attendant will give you more time. The Beer Garden on the boulevard has cold Cristal and across from that there is an ice cream stand. The Trattoria has pizza and excellent pasta with tasty deserts. The pools are beautiful and the beach and sea are spectacular. We recommend that you give this resort a try, you will not be disappointed.

This is our second time at the resort and things have deteriorated dramatically. The food was terrible and in most cases It was left on the plate. We ungraded to a better room closer to the beach, a good thing since we had to use the bathroom often. The upgrade was not worth the money. Restaurants were always running out of food a disappointment since we had to line up for hours to make a reservation. The beach bar was always running out of glasses and started using water bottles cut in half as an alternative. The hotel had no Cuba music, no Cuban dancers, no animation shows other than a few singers and a water show. I got very sick after the third day and believe the Cubans do not have the soap necessary to clean all the plates and glasses.
Last year we told the Hotel we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we were told that if we bring our wedding certificates they would give us perks. No such perks were offered nor did they care. I recommend you do your research prior to being disappointed and if you decide to go, stay at a cheaper 3 star hotel, it is the same thing.

We had a great time for our first all-inclusive trip to Cuba. The first week there were 6 of us. The food was good. Alfredo was amazing and made the best mojitos at The Mojito Bar. The crepe lady was so wonderful and made the best crepes. Yumar made the best morning donuts and was such a pleasure seeing her in the morning. The rooms were good. Tub too high to get in and out of but we made it work. The chairs on the beach were very uncomfortable but the views and the snorkeling was the best. The staff were always helpful and friendly.

The second week 4 of us went to the premium side and it was amazing. Pool was great with the bar, drinks especially Miami Vices were so good. The staff, Edgar, Hugo, Yoan, Juassmi, Annabelle, Yurislay, Louis, Orlando, Aidii, Lorena, Jose Carlo, yulianne, and Lorena and the rest of the staff were amazing, friendly and so helpful. The pool restaurant and the main restaurant, so many options especially for my husband who is vegetarian and we did not have a bad meal. The only improvements would be the beach and crowding with the other resort and the issues with them taking over the premium beach. The staff did there best but some of the other resort guests were so rude. The little treats in the morning were a nice bonus. The other suggestion would be the that it would be nice if the bus could come to premium to pick up guests before we go to the main lobby when we are leaving. If that can’t happen then have a system- great a line up for guest so we can check in, drop off luggage and get on the bus. It would be less chaotic. We had a great vacation and plan to come back in 2 years. Thank-you!
