We stayed 2 nights as we were visiting family in the area. The location is out of the way to be able to walk into the local town etc, but a really nice setting. Plenty of car parking spaces available and we arrived both time fairly late at night. People on reception were friendly and helpful. We stayed in room...

Booked for 3 nights and checked out after 1. Room was in "The Cottage". No WIFI, no mobile signal, old dirty carpets, 43 degrees over night as the hot water pipes for the rest of the cottage are run through and sourced within this room ( 55 ) so you cant cool down. Shower was a dribble and the whole...

The bathroom in our 'renovated' room was like something out of the ark but clean. First room we were given had a bedside light dangling from the bed frame by its wires and a 14" TV. 'Bar food' served in the evenings was pretty awful - you could play ball games with the chicken my husband was served. My smoked...

Lovely quiet place to stay. The afternoon tea was good and even had my Red bush tea that I like. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable, although the shower was a bit tight for us and slow to run. Evening meal was well cooked and breakfast was equally as good with lots of choice for...

We arrived on a Friday evening to find the restaurant was closed and only bar meals available. These were disappointingly basic and had to be rolled a long way from the kitchen on an old-fashioned trolley. Our room in the attic was quite large and generally clean, though the bathroom was old-fashioned with grout that needed replacing. It was hot...

We stayed one night as we were at a wedding at the hotel, our room was a bit hot, but it was clean. They were in the middle of refurbishing the hotel and when we arrived we were told we couldn't book in until 6pm. The receptionist was very helpful in keeping our luggage safe for us and arranging some...

The room was clean with an on-suite bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The shower was old fashioned but functional with some effort. The Bar food had a good range of dishes and were well cooked, of good portions. There were several options of where to eat both inside and out. The building and ground are impressive and in a...

Stayed for only night. Arrived on sunday afternoon almost evening, did not get any foods served but not sure as there was a wedding so couldn't serve food but its not a big deal. The hotel is situated in a small village and has a character such as there was a pretty toleware in our room and has beautiful victorian...

I'm so sorry for your recent stay here with us at Chartridge lodge but thank you for your feedback. As you are aware from staying, the property is very old and some of the pipework is the original, which is why we sometimes encounter problems such as slow drainage. We are going through a refurbishment program and upgrading many of...

We recently had a celebratory luncheon for friends and family here. The whole experience was most satisfying. The venue was beautiful (enhanced by perfect weather), the food was as described, delicious and enjoyed by all and the staff was charming, attentive and very helpful. All the arrangements for this event were very well managed, there were no hitches or glitches....

Having seen the mixed reviews we were worried about staying. We needed somewhere to stay after going to an 80th birthday party and this was the nearest, at a reasonable price. We booked a standard double and were expecting a small bed. On entering Room 50, we were amazed at the size of the bed. It was 7ft wide! Not...

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write your review. You are right, the bathrooms are dated in some of the old house which was built in 1902 but we are slowly refurbishing all of the bedrooms and bathrooms in that area. It's nice to hear that you had a wonderful nights sleep and enjoyed our freshly...
