Thought this large hotel would be a great overnight stopping point to break our journey. The sign at the drive in entrance gives it a 3 star rating and while there I also saw it given 4 stars but can't recall where I saw that. The price certainly reflects the room and what it offers. The room was spotlessly clean...

The Park Hotel Ruapehu staff and management were wonderful. The weather for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the following day was predicted to become dangerous from 3pm on at the tops (the red crater). However, they knew many of us only had the one day to do the crossing, and would be disappointed if we could not. Thus, they opened the...

As I said, it's just a warm place to rest during the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The hotel overall is very nice, all made in wood, but the rooms are a bit small. There is the possibility to cook your own food in a common kitchen, and I liked this because it makes you save some money. There is a free...

Small but clean rooms handy to the Tongariro Crossing walk, hotel has a shuttle and will provide a packed lunch if your doing the crossing. Nice warm spa pools for after a days walk. Staff are friendly helpful. Bar and restaurant are OK

This is a good price/quality hotel. The bed is good and the room is clean. The bathroom is quite small but ok. If you get cold you have an electric heater you can use. It is a bit noisy between the rooms and from outside but manageable. We had breakfast included, but it is basic (milk, tea, gem, butter, honey,...

Got accommodation package from Grabone. Staff: Efficient and nice. The one at the reception is good but needs better bedside manner. Don't get me wrong, she was not rude but needs improvement with her customer service skills. Other staff members that I met were really nice- all smiles - except her. Room: Adequate, a bit small for my liking. Good...

We stayed here as part of a 2 night crossing deal on grab one. Good value for money and well positioned to the crossing itself.. shuttle & breakfast was included too which was a bonus. I would say its more of a place for tourists planning on doing walks etc than a place for a quiet get away. Made it...

The sort of accommodation you expect from a place geared up for walkers and skiers. We were there in summer and the food was excellent, well dinners anyway, breakfast was a bit limited. Friendly willing staff.
