My husband and I stayed in quaint 'Stone Cottage' for 2 nights, which was clean and perfectly equipped. Everything we needed..a good pile of dry wood by the braai, a brilliant shower, and awesome views! I had to have a swim in the plunge pool, which is filled with spring water and is emptied and refilled for each new guest....

If you need a break from it all Welbedacht is definitely the place to go. It might be a bit tricky navigating the road with a normal car but the view and peacefulness is definitely worth it. Each unit has its own little splash pool and if you lucky one of horses freely roaming the area might stop by for...

Stone Cottage, a comfortable well appointed little place. Peaceful and with views all the way down the Tulbach valley. It has its own splash pool which is nice but too cold to enjoy on even the hottest days. A solar panel or wood fired heater for the pool just to take the edge would be great! However there is a...

Set in a delightful setting with lovely views of the Tulbagh valley and the backdrop of the Winterhoek mountains, this getaway is a treat. Three of us shared Orchard cottage. The two bedroom, two bathroom accommodation with all necessities catered for was comfortable. What a treat to make a huge fire in the lounge fireplace on a very cold night...

After making a booking ages in advance and paying a 20% deposit, three months before our booking dates, an unforeseen work commitment came up. I contacted John and explained my predicament asking if there was any possibility of keeping my deposit, opening up the dates again and perhaps moving my dates to the new year. His response was no, the...

We stayed in Stone Cottage, a lovely little cottage with views down the valley to Tulbagh. The cottage has all the basics, you can stock up on food in Tulbagh (be sure to buy salt and pepper, we found it a little strange that wasn't provided, but given the humidity of the region it's perhaps understandable). The water is hot,...

We booked a weekend at Orchard Cottage and were very pleasantly surprised. Based on all the recommendations, we were expecting something extremely basic - and very uncomfortable. Much to our delight, the cottage was huge, with two lovely bathrooms, bookshelves packed with enticing books, and enough wood to keep us warm for months! The fridge is a normal size one,...

A peaceful tiny stone cottage with nothing more than you need. A comfy bed, fire place, kitchen, bathroom with a great shower, a little lounge, pool, outside braai and panoramic view of mother nature at her finest! Amazing for stargazing, hiking, bird watching (we got 50 species), meditating and photography. We didn't - but you can mountain bike and horse...

We booked the Orchard and Stone cottages for two nights. Everything one needs for a weekend is provided for, peace and quiet, all the necessary amenities and a breath taking view. The units are not two far away from the town of Tulbach, yet you are secluded enough to feel completely alone. The units were properly cleaned before we arrived....
