First visit as our usual haunts closed for the season. Ancient building - really historic and interesting, lovely gardens. Good breakfast - rooms old style but with modern bathrooms and facilities. Owners and staff friendly and helpful. Will visit again. Second floor rooms good but up steep stairs if this is a problem. Own car park - beware of drive...

This is a lovely hotel, the architecture is stunning and the place is lovely and toastie. The staff are very helpful and friendly however the hotel is in the middle of nowhere at night!! It's just over a mile walk to Whitby during the day, I stipulate this because that walk is through a field and forest...so no lights at...

Loads of atmosphere here in this hotel in a building over 400 years old. Lovely room, great breakfast and friendly helpful owners. This place is in a lovely setting, a beautiful garden where you can sit and listen to the North Yorks Railway train chuffing by! I would definitely come back here and recommend it to other travellers.

Loved our stay here and can't wait to go back. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. This hotel offers excellent value for money. The breakfast was very good with locally sourced meats, top marks for the sausages!!!. The hosts are two of the nicest people you could ever meet as well. The village is a...

Beautiful old building but not pristine, however this added top the experience. The owners and the staff were first class and very friendly. Breakfast was superb. Twenty five minute walk into Whitby and a cab back for less than £8 so all good. We really enjoyed our short break and would recommend Ruswarp Hall Hotel highly.

Ruswarp Hall is a comfortable and clean old property in the village of Ruswarp, with welcoming and friendly staff. It is ideally situated for the Yorkshire Moors and Whitby The room was comfortable, well appointed and warm but if you have a room on the top floor watch out for the low beams. Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of...

We stayed here one Saturday night. The hotel is in a lovely village but is close enough to walk into Whitby, we got a taxi which cost £12 return, there's also a service bus. Our room was on the top floor and had a four poster bed plus 2 single beds, even though there was only 2 of us, the...

The building is very old so do not be surprised if the fabric is showing signs of this. Everything functioned in our bedroom/bathroom. I was surprised to find that a previous occupant had left a container of soap/lotion perched on top of the mirror light. Wifi was patchy in the room but worked well downstairs. Breakfast was served hot and...

Ruswarp Hall Hotel is a lovely old building needing a great deal of updating to bring it up to a modern standard. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room but we were disappointed by much of what we saw. Some parts of the hotel have had some modernisation (like the breakfast room), but the stairs and...
