Our experience was close to a scam/tourist trap. Positive points: -friendy waiters at the lounge/bar -good looking interior decoration Negativ points: -rude receptionist: „i dont care“ as answer to the question: if there is still a double bed avaialable like we booked because it was 2 single beds(other couple had the same problem) -spa was defekt- same answer i dont care and nothing in return - plastic cocktail glasses -breakfast: 30 min for filling up bacon/eggs after asking -maybe 50% made out of salt- rest concrete/linoleum -outdoor area still under construction and dirty

Excellent stay at this unique salt hotel in Uyuni. The Andean decor of the hotel was artistic. I had magnificent view in my matrimonial room. The reception staff Dylan was highly commendable, he was friendly and helpful, provided personal attention and was able to communicate fluently in English. I thoroughly enjoyed my secluded retreat.

The hotel is beautiful with stunning views of the salt plains. The rooms are very comfortable and there is adequate heating (bathrooms are cold as no heating there) but unusually no complimentary water and nowhere to hang a jacket. The food whether buffet or a la carte was extremely mediocre for a property of this calibre and normally luke warm at best. Breakfast and lunch were therefore perfunctory affairs for us. We did have some of our own wine with us and we got a couple of glasses from the bar and enjoyed our wine and the views in the common areas of the hotel. Much better experience! We enjoyed the ambience of the hotel hence the rating, without that likely an average rating.

Convenient location with view of the salar in the distance. Nice spacious room with comfortable bed, but insufficient heating: air conditioning unit producing more noise than heat - no heating for bathroom. The restaurant, lounge and all the other common areas are lovely and well-heated via wood-burners. Buffet style food for all meals - nothing special, but ok. Staff at restaurant and reception friendly. Did not have time to try the Spa.

not sure why there are bad reviews on this place. we had a wonderful visit. the grounds are beautiful with fire places everywhere. the rooms were clean and quiet. the lady who created us was pleasant and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. great place to stay at salt flats.

Hotel Luna Salida near Uyuni is a salt hotel, though the mattresses are not made of salt. This is an upmarket option in Colchani right on the “shores” of the massive salt lake the area is so famous for. This hotel has everything you expect and need in a glitzier hotel, including a wellness centre and full restaurant. Breakfast was included. Dinner costs extra but it is a fantastic buffet with a big variety of foods. This hotel was part of a package from Bolivia Travel Site, but rooms average $US180 according to booking sites. The rooms are big enough and the bathrooms quite good. There is a seating area with a log fire across from all the rooms where you can sit and sip drinks as you watch the sun set over the salt. The only negative, and once again an avoidable one, is the poor water pressure in the shower. Half the water but double the time I keep on saying. If you can get past this, the Hotel Luna Salida is a wonderful option for accommodation in Uyuni. Check out my other reviews of places, hotels and experiences throughout South America. …

Hotel has a lovely design and nice rooms but the food is terrible. We originally had the buffet dinner booked which was suddenly not available and we needed to eat a la carte which was not reflecting the price we paid and the food was not tasty at all. If you stay don’t book the dinner, we felt like they totally ripped us off with paying premium for buffet dinner and having a bad starter main and desert!

The experience in Hotel Luna Salada was incredible. The staff, the views, the hotel as a whole and the food was everything perfect. The hotel always wanted us to spend a great time in the Salt Flats. Our favorite part of the hotel was the balcony that looks like it has stars all over the floor with a breathtaking view of the Salt Flats.

One of the most welcoming hotels I have ever visited. The one at the hotel gives you a very special feeling of comfort. The food is at the level of some very good restaurants, as well as the excellent service. The same slogan of the hotel "the best views of the Salar de Uyuni" does not disappoint, the terrace, the corridor that leads to the dining room and some rooms offer you a privileged view of the largest salt flat in the world.

We shared the same feeling with the other reviewers about the receptionist being not so welcoming but believed it was perhaps a matter of language and cultural differences. Whenever we asked her questions, she did answer. The girl in the spa and the other passers-by staff all looked a lot more friendly, especially the head in the buffet restaurant (so not sure whether it was really a cultural thing…. Anyway that at didn’t bother us to appreciate the uniqueness of this special hotel! We had a huge suite with two bedrooms and two huge living rooms! Decor was very impressive among all the salt blocks building the wall. Every corner in the hotel was specially decorated to be photogenic. There are various individual sitting rooms all along the corridors to our room at the end of the wing so we could enjoy our welcome drink and enjoyed the sunset (as suggested by the receptionist…so afterall she wasn’t that cold at all….) We already repaid all three nights and all meals so nobody bothered us in the middle of the night as mentioned by other guests. The bartender however, was not consistent. When my husband requested a glass of warm water (so I could take my altitude pills), the bartender did give him the warm water but said the next time my husband requested, he would be charged. We were quite shocked. But when my young adult daughter went alone and requested the same….she was given my warm water unlimitedly….so I was able to take my pills in the next few days (as there was not even bottled water in our room….unless I take medicine with beer/coke ….😅 The buffet food was not extravagant but enough for us with lots of veggies to choose from (considered we were in such an environment with very limited supplies) Anyway we duu I d not have any complaints about our breakfast and dinners.…
