I stayed from 2.11.16 - 4.11.16. Never saw a ranger or any person responsible who might have cleaned up the bathroom (toilet paper all over the floor area) or BBQ's (encrusted with black soot). A large group arrived on 3.11.16 playing loud music until 11...More

Firstly, there is no limit on the number of people allowed in the park. No Rangers were observed for the four days we stayed during Queens Birthday long weekend. Many people bring dogs and they run rampant. There are only two short hikes in the...More

Set in the peaceful high country east of Warburton, the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is the upper most point of the Yarra River accessible to the public. The park was originally a small town constructed for the More workers who built the dam. Have a barbeque in the gardens or picnic grounds, encompassed by eucalypt bushland and spectacular scenery. There are electric barbeques and Coonara fires (BYO wood). There are several short walks and lookouts over and around the reservoir, and camping is available. Follow the beautiful Fern Gully self-guided trail as it loops through tall eucalypt forest with a dense sheltered ferny understorey. Enjoy breathtaking views of the reservoir and the surrounding catchment. Take a stroll along the Brimbonga Walking Track to the viewing platform and watch water flow through the reservoir's outlet basin as it begins its journey to Melbourne. The park is open daily. Gates open at 8:30am and close at 5:00pm, or 6:00pm during daylight savings. From Melbourne take Maroondah Highway through Lilydale then the Warburton Highway to Warburton. Less
