The camp is beautifully appointed - serious "glamping", complete with soft, comfortable beds, electricity in each tent and a separate bathroom tent for each bedroom tent. The staff was warm, friendly, interesting and very engaging. Our family of 4 spent 2 relaxing nights here and enjoyed a sunrise camel trek, a cultural excursion (where we met a traditional nomadic Berber...

Tents, beds are very comfortable, good quality linens. Excellent dinner and very good breakfast. Attentive servers. Nice entertainment, camel ride. Good wifi. Cannot blame anything here. Our toilet did not work at all. We had bathroom #1 on the left side of the block . There was a work in progress of building a new one right beside it. The...

Initially I contacted Sara about the stay in the desert and asked her a few questions about traveling in Morocco. She was very patient and answered all my questions. She offered me her driver and car with everything included; for the same price we rent a SUV and drive ourselves. My major concern was safety because I took my parents...

Highlight of our journey through Morocco!! You have to stay there. The camp is amazing, the comfort surpasses many good hotels, the food is delicious and copious (I guarantee you won't finish your plate), the activities are fun, the staff is so nice that you feel bad for being treated like such a king. My regret is not to jave...

I can't recommend Ali & Sara's Desert Palace highly enough. We stayed there during one of the coldest weeks on record in Morocco and were wonderfully warm in a super comfortable bed with lots of beautiful, warm blankets and soft linens. Lots of other people warned us not to do a desert stay when it was so cold, but Ali...

Our stay here was magical. If you are going to the desert then I would completely recommend staying here. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay - made it feel like we were part of their family (in the good way) and looked after us throughout. organised 3 camel trips for us ALL included in the price...

We were delighted with our stay at Ali & Sara Desert Palace, it is indeed a palace nestled in the dunes. The accommodations are great with large, well appointed tents, spacious bathrooms, and excellent, abundant food. But what made the experience for us was the wonderful staff. Himou made certain that everything was done to make us comfortable while explaining...

You really need to stay here for 2 plus days to experience the desert. You completely switch off! Food is excellent! Staff very helpful! But very cold at night so come prepared! Amazing adventure! Go quad biking, it is the only way to experience the desert for the length of time you are there. Although it can be quite expensive...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We created Ali & Sara's Desert Palace with the aim that our guests could experience the beautiful and natural setting of the desert, staying in clean & comfortable surroundings where the focus is relaxation and enjoyment, together with some safe adventure. Nestled well within the dunes, we're about an hour or so from Merzouga village by camel and 20-30 mins by 4x4. If preferred we can collect clients from around Morocco or if travelling independently we can greet you on your arrival in Merzouga village for you to enjoy light refreshments before setting off by the desert ship, the camel to your home for the night. Our aim is to remain as environmentally friendly as possible and lighting is by a combination of candle and solar power. We pump water from our own water well and guests can take hot water showers, with laundered towels and toiletries provided in a large dedicated bathroom which also houses a separate flush toilet. Dining is in under the stars or in our separate well furnished restaurant and food is freshly prepared to suit personal preference, served at a time to suit. We wake our guests to see sunrise although it's not obligatory and breakfast is served at a time to suit, there's no early morning rush or hurry on our part for our guests to depart. Our aim is for guests to have an exceptional and complete desert experience, we take great care of our clients and we pride ourselves on our service, always on hand, but unobtrusive. ... more   less
