Stayed at Mango bay from 3rd January for 1 week following a week cruise. Well it was wow. Wish we had stayed for 2 weeks instead of the cruise. From checking in to leaving was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. It is a fab location straight through the entrance into

What a great week we had at Mango Bay. After a long flight and a 40 minute transfer we arrived in the early evening and quickly received a cool towel to refresh ourselves and a very nice rum punch. Our room was very acceptable with a view overlooking the front of the

I am a non smoker, and found it not a problem, but there were designated smoking areas outside, not sure if all rooms are non smoking. But there were tables with ash trays on them around areas of the pool and stage area, also there is a couple of pergolas on the beech decking where guests went to smoke in the evening and some people did smoke on the beech during the day.

You have to book tables for lunch and dinner at breakfast which is open without reservation until past ten. There is no open buffet but i feel they would be reasonable and adapt to circumstances if and when required.

Hi in answer to your question. Deluxe rooms are positioned overlooking the pool or have an ocean view deluxe rooms looking directly 180 degrees out to sea. Actually you get a good sea view from the rooms over looking the pool if you are on the 3rd or 4th floor, overlooking the pool and bar area, we were upgraded from a deluxe room to an ocean view room, on the 3rd floor, which was a surprise and great, the room is a good size for two persons, very clean and tastefully decorated. The room entrance is from an outside corridor and on entering the room consisted of toilet and bathroom as you walked into the room on the right, in the main bedroom area a queen size bed, to one side large wardrobe with good hanging space and shelves, along one wall a chest of drawers with mini bar, with large flat screen tv in the suite area a glass desk with chair on casters, a coffee table and small sofa, glass patio doors leading to a balcony with two wicker style sun lounger chairs and wicker round table. Also a hanging rail for drying wet swim wear. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas available around the pool area, in front of the restaurant and on a beach side deck area, next to a roof covered area with open sides, they also position loungers and brollies on the beech if in demand. The beech shelves towards the sea, so may not be the best position for a lounger if close to the sea. There is a beech waiter service serving drinks. Also beech sellers but they are great to chat to and leave you alone if you ask them to. The beech is great fine white sand, clear crystal water, with a small reef just off shore, which is good for snirkling around lots of different fish to see, there is also a couple of sea turtles about 50 to maybe 75mtrs off shore that you can snorkel out to or use a canoe and paddle out too or go on the free boat ride to see the turtles.. This hotel is small but as high standards, there is a dress code for Menander enforced on certain days, there is good entertainment in the evening and staff that are attentive, pleasant and go that extra mile to make guests enjoy their holiday. I highly recommend this hotel, however there was some refurbishment going on in the block closest to the road and where the street party takes place on a Sunday, this work was very well managed it did not inconvenience us or we didn't realise it was going on until someone told us about it, because they had been upgraded from standard to deluxe. I believe these were the block of standard rooms. The refurbishment work will have been fully completed by now, the entrance to this block and rooms is from the pool area and adjacent, close to reception. I hope this clarifies your questions and you enjoy this hotel as much as we did.
