My husband and I just returned from Belize and stayed at Mariposa for 3 nights. I would hands-down say that this was our most unique and personalized lodging and we have travelled to almost all of the central america countries but 2. If you are looking for an experience in the Jungle and enjoy waking up to the sounds of...

We were there for 7 days and every one of them were great, the driver was there and waiting when we got to Belize with cold water and a smile, and it stayed friendly the entire time. This was my first all inclusive trip having done all of my traveling previous out of a backpack and so was a little...

This was my first trip to Central America and Belize. I traveled with a friend and stayed at Mariposa for the first 3 days of our 5 day trip. We were picked up by a hotel staff member who also turned out to be our guide for the Caaracol and Cave expedition. He was WONDERFUL,very passionate about Belize, thorough and...

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge on a 2 week trip to Belize. We've never reviewed a hotel before, but felt we had to this time -- there is no way that this lodge should be #5 in the rankings! The service was extraordinary -- every day we were looked after by an...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during our recent 10 day trip in Belize. We stayed at half a dozen different lodges and B&Bs during our trip. Mariposa had by far the best facilities of anywhere we stayed. Our cabana was beautiful, well decorated and very clean. We loved listening to the jungle each evening and morning....

We did not stay at Mariposa. We had a reservation and were just about to pay when Clara told us that if we didn't extend to 3 nights from 2, she had been instructed by the owner to take a reservation that had come in after ours. Whenever we travel to remote parts of foreign countries, we want to fully...

sbrink, Director of Sales at Mariposa Jungle Lodge, responded to this review

Sometimes, tough business decisions have to be made. Ms. Nenon’s original request was for a three-night booking, which comported with our Peak Season policy of three-night minimum stays. After several communications, she changed it to two nights. Our Sales Manager erroneously gave her an adjusted price, inadvertently overlooking the established policy and leaving us with two rooms that would be...

We can't say enough about our stay at Mariposa Jungle Lodge. The site is absolutely gorgeous. My first time in the jungle and I felt totally safe wandering aroumnd the site, learning about a seemingly endless variety of trees, medicinal plants, birds and tropical flowers. Lots of Black Orchids in bloom. The staff is amazing. Everyone we encountered, from Nelmarie,...

This jungle lodge is simply wonderful! We arrived at dusk, having been met at the airport by one of the guides from the lodge. The last few miles to the lodge were a bit bumpy over the dirt road, but it was well worth it. The lodge driveway was lit with solar lights and the path to the cabanas was lit...

The owner Sharyn and her whole local staff are very dedicated, extremely helpful and nice. We had booked a 5 night package; the included tours were perfectly organized and did not have a minimum number of participants (which is not the case at all lodges). Do not miss the ATM cave, a visit to the nearby butterfly farm and the...
