We loved our stay at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge. It was everything I expected and more. The rooms were really nice. Cute pool. But the best part was the excursions and the guides who work for the lodge. Everyone is warm and friendly. I called this my Face Your Fears Trip. We did Caracol and the granite pools, ATM (holy...

My husband and I started our 2-week honeymoon at Mariposa - what a great way to begin our vacation! Sharon and her staff have designed and run a beautiful property in the middle of the jungle. Overall: This is a unique, wonderful place to stay in the jungle. The service alone makes the stay worthwhile and the cabanas and grounds...

We had a great time during our 5 nights at the Mariposa. We took 3 day trips to see Mayan ruins and the area around the lodge. During these trips the guides who were either part of Mariposa or recommended by the owner were wonderful. In fact, everyone at Mariposa helped to make our trip a great time. We had...

This small property in the jungle is among the best places we have ever vacationed. After bumping over 7 miles of dirt road one might wonder about choosing Mariposa, but once there it all makes sense. A very friendly welcome from owner Sharyn and her very able Mayan manager, Nelmarie, immediately tell you that you are in the right place....

We stayed at Mariposa for four nights with our two children, ages 8 and 13. Belize was initially challenging or confusing for me to plan for some reason and before we even went I was grateful for generous help and input from Sharyn about planning not only the jungle portion of our stay, but the rest of our trip. I...

We spend 3 nights here in March of 2012 with our 2 kids, ages 11 and 7. The lodge arranged transporations (a must to get hte the lodge!) We had arranged our excursions before arriving and were not disappointed. Rooms/Lodge/Staff: The rooms were great! The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and relaxing! Remember your bug spray as...

I stayed at Mariposa for two nights this past July on a brisk four-day trip to Belize and Guatemala, all organized by the energetic, knowledgeable, semi-crazy, and extremely personable proprietor, Sharyn. When I say organized, I mean I provided Sharyn a list of activities which I wanted to do in a very limited time (two countries in four days is...

I spent a week at Mariposa Jungle Lodge in February with a friend, and it was such an amazing experience I have had trouble putting it into words. As a first-time visitor to Belize and Central America, it was invaluable to have Mariposa’s friendly expertise, and the personalized experience and attention made me feel like a VIP! To give a...

I stayed 6 nights at Mariposa in February and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay – from relaxing in my cozy cabana to my adventures at Carocol and ATM cave. Mariposa offered the perfect intimate setting providing complete comfort while not encroaching on the beauty of the jungle. Our cabana, one of six, was wonderful. It was very clean,...

This is a beautiful oasis in the jungle of Cayo with few but very nice rooms and incredibly clean. Luxury in the jungle. But even more amazing is the staff at the Mariposa lodge - all of them make your stay a wonderful experience - never had such a warm and excellent service. We also booked a trip with them...
