My husband and I were staying only 1 night in Brussels and as this city is notorious for high prices, we have chosen this hotel. I can say that price-quality feature is quite justified. There is nothing special to be said about this place. The location was its biggest advantage and disadvantage at the same time. Very close to the...

As a seasoned traveller, I don't usually take the time to write a review, but I feel this hotel's rating is way below where it should be. I was dubious after reading the reviews, but it turned out to be the perfect place to stay in Brussels. It's very central, only about 1 km from the Grande Place. The room...

I used The Van Belle as somewhere to break up a journey to Cologne. I knew the hotel was being refurbished and I was not expecting much. My room was adequate, you get what you pay for. My room hadn't been refurbished and pictures I have seen if the new rooms seem quite nice. The only issue I had was...

My friend and I stayed here last night. The hotel lobby looked nice despite the renovations. We stayed in a basic room which was more than satisfactory although we were amused that the TV was about 20 years old. It's great that it's about a 15 min walk to the city centre. However, this is not a fault of the...

During my stay the hotel was going through some renovations, but that did not inconvenience me in any way. I got offered to upgrade my room booked in the old part of the hotel, to a new room for additional 15 euros a night. It was well worth it. The room was spotless, well equipped; big screen TV, fridge, comfortable...

Hi we stayed in this hotel following a deal with Groupon. The hotel is currently going through refurbishment and we were offered a refurbished room for an additional €15. We paid the upgrade and was pleasantly surprised. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The hotel is ideally situation to the train station and walking distance for grand...

We were booked in to the Van Belle in September, two young women, as part of a cheap Groupon deal. Given the mixed reviews we were cautious, but the taxi driver warned us not to walk around the area at night and to watch our handbags (pickpockets); this Hotel reception was being renovated, not a huge issue, the lift was...

Rating based on my 1-night stay in old part of hotel and my expectation that it was a 2-star accomodation (perhaps new wing warrants 3-star rating). All I hoped for was cleanliness, decent comfort, a good shower, friendly staff and convenience (to walk to the main attractions and then to my train in the morning). Bingo. I declined to see...

We upgraded to a new room 304, very nice but tea and coffee facilities would have been nice. Not a good area, a no go area to the right of the hotel. Taxi driver warned us do not go after dark there. 10 min walk to the centre but avoid side streets. A lot of men in groups, was a...

States for four days. Liked breakfasts, clean room. Good and understanding, kind staff. The neighbourhood represents Brussels' multinational and cosmopolit state but at least safe. I had some questions regarding the hotel but i think it is good and clean plase to stay having low budget.
