Loved this hotel. Helpful staff, gorgeous room, best breakfast of anywhere we stayed, and good location. Our room was huge, tiled, large dressing area and spacious stone and tile bathroom with a large shower. Monteverde Reserve is about 4 miles away by taxi. Highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful sunset view down to Santa Elena.

I wanted to love this hotel. There are some definite pros here: location is good for Sta Elana visits, poking around (if you are okay with a STEEP hill walk) and for Cloud forest exploring, Selvatura or other zip-lining, etc. Rooms are clean and large and there are nice windows. Not sure if whole hotel is non-smoking but our rooms...

Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly. We saw beautiful birds on the grounds. It was just a short walk down the hill to great shops and eating. Please note that it is on a steep hill and curve, you will likely hear motorcycles on the road and beeping their horns as the round the curve. The...

Spacious, clean room with magnificent vista through ceiling to floor glass. Good location as it is less than 5 min walk to the centre of Sta Elena. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Breakfast (included) not great quality but edible, standard choice: rice, pancakes, eggs, sausages. coffee a bit weak for me. Overall I would recommend it if you are not...

pros: great location good customer service beautiful views (sunsets especially) beautiful rooms, no complaints cons: car has to be parked down the hill so there's a bit of a walk if your room is located high up there

Great spot with incredible views! Walking distance to Santa Elena and good location for exploring the reserves in the area. We felt very safe walking around exploring the area. Staff had great restaurant recommendations and were very helpful. Even saw monkeys right from our balcony!

Beautiful hotel with very spacious rooms! Very hilly but you are in the mountains. Staff is very accommodating - helped us with our bags and had a shuttle drive us up the hill to our room. Offered advice on future excursions too! Even helped us with a little critter (a scary one) that snuck into our room! Breathtaking view from...

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ficus. The room was comfortable, large and quiet. We had large windows to sit and enjoy the view - one day the view was a toucan eating in the trees. We also saw a coati walking across the parking lot. The staff was friendly and able to arrange several tours for us, and...

Good restaurant, just two blocks. However walk into town,be ready for return. Need some work on the water systems. The water would shut off at any time,we would call reception and the would say wait 15-20 minutes.Good fresh watermelon juice, served in...
