Stayed two nights at the Fonda Vela in on our recent trip to Monteverde. First of all it is a little way from the town and luckily we had a rental car so we were able to go into town for meals as the on site restaurant was on the expensive side. The room was quite beautiful with

Fonda Vela is a nice property near the cloud forest. Lovely sunsets, nice garden and decent food. As in most places in CR, the staff were attentive and obliging. No complaints there. The negatives- 1- A general rule - NEVER start rattling off rules when a guest is checking in,

The grounds are beautiful but the bathrooms rooms need urgent updating - yellowed tub with rusting fixtures. And NO Internet in rooms - only in restaurant and reception area. Since access to the internet is easily available in all other properties we visited in Costa Rica this

I am not sure what is meant by customer service. The place is not a 5 Star facility...most places in Monteverde tend to keep staff fairly lean because tourism is only 6-8 months per year. That said, we did not experience any issues, in fact quite the opposite. We had what we needed and were really happy with our stay, and would return. Perhaps it depends on one’s expectations?

It was one of my daughter's favourite places to stay, lovely rooms, good food and helpful front desk staff. It was close to where we saw our first Quetzal :)

Do you have air conditioning?
Our hotel as any Hotel in the area, doesn´t provide any air conditioning A/C, this due mostly of the year Monteverde keep a fresh weather. Also, our room structures are build to keep high spaces to let the air flow and keep it fresh.

The wifi throughout the property is hit or miss and slow. In the lobby it is a bit better. You have to find the right spot.
