Really a fantastic place to stay with an absolutely stunning view and amazing hosts. The rooms are clean and cozy, and John and Suzanne make you feel right at home. A must stay if you are in the area.

There are plenty of public lounge area and a cinematic entertaining room. The best is to explore local wineries which are all minutes drive away. The host of Suzanne and John are the best host for my trip of New Zealand so far. Such a lovely couple and always make you feel warmth and welcome. Did i mention that they...

Books for a two night respite from camper van. Lovely welcome, very comfortable accommodation and great food. Their own wine is also excellent. On top of this a lovely greeting from the 3 dogs (PJ, Lulu and Trixie). Sorry to leave, but Mt Cook beckons. Highly recommended place to stay. We organized a great wine tour with a local company...

Best accommodations, best hosts, best wine, best breakfasts, best location! That's all I have to say! Suzanne is an amazing cook. I'm still craving her cinnamon rolls! The rooms were perfect for our family of 5. I loved that I didn't have to share a bathroom with the kids. Each room had a plate of fruit, sweets, coffee and tea,...

We stayed at Hawkdun Rise for 2 nights (late in Dec 2016) and loved it. Suzanne and John treated us like long lost relatives, they are the most welcoming hosts and the vineyard setting is glorious. They make top notch wines, with the 2012 Pinot being my favourite, an elegant style that will cellar nicely. Breakfast was amazing, freshly baked...

What a delightful location. A great view from the lodge over the vineyard and the surrounding area. This is a very peaceful and relaxing area, but not far from Alexandra and Clyde township, and close to many other wineries and Otago Rail Trail, and other activities. Best of all, the hosts, Suzanne and John were so welcoming.
