We stayed in the cottage for the night for a second visit, our first visit a few weeks ago was a completely different experience. The cottage was quite poorly cleaned, certainly not to the standard it should be in the current situation. The welcome pack was very poor, no Prosecco, even though the price was the same as the last visit some 6 weeks earlier and no notice that Prosecco wouldn’t be included. The gardens were also poor, they were unkept and had rubbish around the grounds that had not been picked up. Certainly not worth the money for an overnight stay.

When looking for a wedding venue you always want something special that blows you away and that is exactly what we got from Wynyard Hall. Wynyard was our wedding venue on the 5th August and we had the most incredible day which we know is largely down to their brilliant team! Jill our wedding coordinator was nothing short of amazing throughout. She was so helpful with any questions we had, guiding us through the day, taking on any ideas and so accommodating - no request was too much for her. I honestly could not have wished for anything more from her - amazing!! On the day, everything was perfect! The food was incredible (everyone is still talking about the beef featherblade) and we are very thankful for Jill and the team being so flexible and allowing us to make some changes to the menu that were more personal to us. A huge thank you to all of the staff and front of house for working so hard (especially under the circumstances) and for being so helpful. We had so many comments from guests about how beautiful Wynyard was - the grand ballroom, beautiful ceiling, scenic terrace views, all of which are part of why we fell in love with Wynyard but it was the hard work and effort by the team that really made it such a special day. We can’t thank you or recommend you enough!

We decided to have a family lunch whilst visiting the lovely gardens. We’ve been before but the range of food and the standard of service was poor. No menus and no board with a menu so every customer had to ask what hot food there was - 2 types of panini sandwiches or toasties, or 3 types of artisan pastries. We opted for toasties which were served without any garnish. Strange when the gardens stock salad. The gentleman in front of us asked what type of sandwiches there were and was told to look at the fridge behind the counter, eventually one of the servers realised that it was impossible to read the labels from the other side of the counter and listed them. This is somewhere that charges £4 for a slice of (very nice) cake! There are many places to eat a picnic in the gardens and you will get much more pleasure from taking your own food.

Where to start... My sister offered to my boyfriend and me £150 to use at the SPA. First of all, I had to pay for extra charge postage because Wynyard didn't put enough stamps on the envelope. It was a few pounds but still, it's not very professional and doesn't look good already. I finally managed to book in December to go to the SPA and got a call saying that the staff had to isolate due to covid which is totally fine and I got reinsure that they will call me back to reschedule the appointment. I'm still waiting... A couple of months ago, I tried to ring them again to book the SPA. I tried to ring them every day for a week at different times, as I'm guessing some times are busier than others. Still no answer or call back even after leaving a voicemail. My boyfriend managed to get hold of them via email. They advised him to contact them by email because their lines are very busy. OK by email it is. As the Vouchers were coming to the expiration date, he asked if they could be extended. They agreed but didn't even ask for the voucher's number. My boyfriend replied with the voucher's number to make sure that there is a trace. It's still very odd to not ask for them. Since then my boyfriend emailed them as advised and here we are 6 days later with still not an answer. To be honest, I'm put off to go there now. They clearly just wanted the money but don't really want you to come. Such a magnificent place but what a dreadful service, it's really a shame that Wynyard can't have a service that matches their prices. So If you want to offer something nice as a birthday present, don't bother with Wynyard, pick another venue. We all know that Covid has a hard repercussion on businesses but you should welcome and encourage people to come and visit. Especially when they invested in vouchers while you were closed to help you even if it seems like a ridiculous amount compared to a wedding or corporate event because, in the end, the client should come first.

Stayed here Sunday 25th of July for our 26th wedding anniversary what a absolute disappointment expected a lot more from wynyard hall the room we stayed in was room 5 there was broken tiles on the walls and floor of the bathroom and there was grout missing from a lot of the tiles on the floor which is very unsightly there was a loft hatch in the ceiling of the bathroom which was very grubby and all the paint was flaking off then the carpet in the bedroom area looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned properly for a very long time and had big ripples all over the carpet were it hadn’t been fitted right it was a lovely sunny day and we were told we couldn’t not sit outside on the terrace as there was a wedding on and we had not been informed on this asked we else we could sit outside and they said there wasn’t anywhere else to sit in the sunshine outside when we emailed them to let them know how disappointed we were given we had chosen wynyard hall to spend our anniversary at we told they had a lot of new faces and will continue with the training to get everything to the next level it wasn’t the reply I would of expected from a well established place like wynyard hall as I have stayed in premier inns that guarantee if you don’t have a good stay they give you a full refund
