We spent a fantastic afternoon in the beautiful gardens at Clarence House, celebrating my wife's birthday.
Fabulous views across the valley, excellent service from Connor the bar manager, and the dining room staff.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable
Had a few disappointing experiences in the past at this hotel and nearly gave up going. Rooms and food were great but the staff were not at the same level as the accommodation. This last visit it all changed, especially in the bar with the...More

Thank you for such a lovely afternoon. A very relaxing and delightful afternoon. Both the food and the cocktails were sublime. The roast beef was the best I have had in a very long time. Sitting on the terrace in the sun for post drinks...More

Sorry dear, I've never booked a room, I live in Ravenglass and it's only an hour and a few minutes to the hotel, my best friend and I go for the Ladies Lunch which is once a month, but I can only say the food is out of this world, it's a family run hotel, and the family are wonderful, I've just telephoned the hotel, and this is their answer to to your question, your dog is most welcome to be in the grounds, and your bedroom, but not in the main public area's of the hotel, as it's and open plan, and all area's lead off into the dinning area's. I have to say there are plenty of cosy corner's to sit in but not for your pet sorry! but your stay will still be wonderful so don't worry too much. I hope my answer help's, I have to say they do have a wonderful garden with outside seating, and I'm sure you'll have a fabulous stay, as I've already said the family are lovely, and the staff are fabulous you'll be well looked after the food as I've already said is wonderful it has to be to get Anne and myself to travel the fell's of a bleak winter's day, so all I can say now is enjoy yourselves you lucky people and I wish it was me staying there!
