Beautiful place and wonderful People. Great escape from a big city. Fantastic rooms in an old stone building. More than tasty breakfast with figs and tomatoes straight from the garden. Home made marmelades and last but not least the tastiest olive oil worth smuggling through Switzerland ;)

We have stayed at la Casa dei Nonni several times over the past few years and we have always felt like at home. Andrea and his wonderful family have a true jewel on the Ligurian mountains where I love to return year after year.

Usually when I read in reviews that the host is friendly, I ask myself if she is also intrusive :). I chose this place after finding it on a personal traveling blog of someone from UK. I saw the reviews said about a very friendly host, I kept my "concerns" aside and went for it. I was almost sure I...

We stayed in the "La stanza delle glare" for 3 nights - lovely, unique, well provisioned room and you have your own little terrace with table and sun loungers. It was a wonderful and relaxing retreat at the start of our trip to Liguria and just what we needed. The owner is very friendly, helpful and speaks very good English....

My husband and I stayed in the suite, "La stanza delle giare" at the end of March. It was immaculate. Great attention to detail, quality furnishings. Andrea made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed our breakfasts (great buffet selection including home made jams and each morning we were offered slices of home made cake). Fresh flowers on our table. Our...

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in August. The Casa Dei Nonni proved to be a very good choice for us. The rooms in the main building (we didn't see the other accommodations in other buildings) were very clean and comfortable though basic. We had a room with a private en suite bathroom though other rooms had to share...

This agriturismo is definitely for independent tourists with a car and the courage to drive it on narrow mountain roads. The place consists of the owner's house with a dining room and some guest rooms, and separate old building restored for guest rooms with personal front doors. It is situated 8km from Cisano sul Neva and around 20 km from...

This B & B is just GREAT. Its location, about 15 min inland from the beautiful Italian coast, is simply lovely......quiet, clean, comfortable and WONDERFUL breakfasts. The "town" of Castelbianco is made up of 4 villages, each one quaint and charming. There are a few VERY good restaurants serving excellent, local cuisine. Andrea, the owner of the B & B,...

Have just returned from a week stay at the apartment, Andrea could not of been more helpful, perfect place to stay.Would highly recommend booking for anyone traveling in the area, a car is a must as the area is remote a small price to pay for the stunning views.

We only stayed one night here but were really impressed by the atmosphere. The setting is idyllic, the welcome is warm and friendly and the rooms & breakfast were of the highest quality. We would warmly recommend this place to anyone planning on staying in the area.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Casa dei Nonni is a charming country house located in the medieval village of Castelbianco, west Liguria, near Albenga exactly midway between Tuscany and Provence. 15 kilometers far from the coast you find the Pennavaire valley discovering an unexpected piece of Liguria; an amazing landscape appears to your eyes, since it's impressive to see an "alpine" environment so close to the sea. ... more   less

“Be sure to ask about all the types of rooms/apartments and their amenities.”

“It is a little bit uncomfortably cold in winter in separately situated rooms (not in the main house), but in summer this may be an advantage. Зимой было довольно холодно в номере, расположенном отдельно от главного здания, пол слишком холодный, чтобы ходить без обуви, но летом это вероятно становится преимуществом.”

“We stayed in apartment II Roseto which I believe is their newest apartment. We were two adults and had another couple join us for the weekend. Perfect room arrangement as teh two rooms were at either end with common areas in the middle. The place actually sleeps another two 4+2, with additional bunk beds in a connecting area.”
