My experience for my 21st birthday was very fun. The hotel pool and beach is beautiful, the only thing this resort needs is minor updating when it comes to the furniture and needs to remodels the outdated rooms. Other than that we were treated great, the staff is fun and we had a lot of fun. Two workers Roberto and Allinson treated us like family and really put the cherry on top for our great vacation so shout out to them.

2.5 out of 5 stars....Best value is under $90 (US). Anything over that amount is overpriced. Worthy of the all-inclusive label because of the buffet, several bars, and the snack bar outside, however, I would say that calling it a "resort" is a stretch. The place definitely cuts corners on service and quality. There was no artwork on the walls, or any sort of decoration typical of nicer hotels. Beds were that of motel quality. The flat screen TV was a 19" model, slightly larger than a desktop computer screen. The chair had no cushions. The bed was not attached to the headboard so it would slide away from the wall when sitting up. Kind of funny that one...
Staff was friendly. There were friendly bartenders but no servers. The place seemed understaffed which created long waits as one person had multiple responsibilities, and often abandoned the bar to get supplies.
The private beach was nice. It was fairly clean, and there were not the usual beach merchants approaching you constantly. It was peaceful at times, and other times multiple speakers blaring music from all directions. The parking was free but the elevator in the parking lot did not work. It was good exercise walking up and down 3 stories. Check-in/check-out was easy. The hotel has no generator. If the power goes out, which will happen, power will stay out until whenever. No WiFi during the outages.

Place is run down and worn out. The Bed sheets and curtains have not been replaced since the opening of the hotel. I was hesitant to place my head on the pillows, worst than a Motel 6. Place looks like its under construction. Safe is broken, has no lock and the place isn't secure enough to leave passport and such in the room. Light goes out intermittently throughout the day. The place is huge and has potential but definitely not a Resort Like place. Food is good and plenty variety. Beer and liquor is included. Beach is beautiful and clear. Pool area is nice but small and seats are dingy and run down. Beach towels require a deposit (1.000 pesos), money is returned if you take back tickets and receipt of payment which is kind of a pain in the toosh. The fancy restaurants that require reservation, are included in hotel fee but are not fancy at all, same service and food quality as buffet. My room service lady was nice and did the best she could with what is available. There are no ice machines available, no one ever answers the front desk/concierge phone. This place gives resorts a bad name. I was grossed out my entire stay. The tub is yellow and peeling, the toilet is dirty, there was a swimsuit panty liner stuck on my bathroom door, a shirt belonging to God knows who was on the side of the dresser and window. The lamps do not have shades. I had a great ocean view with large balcony and 2 chairs, my dad had same view but his balcony was flooded our entire stay. The quality of hotel is inappropriate and very third world like this country is able to provide better accommodations similar to those of Punta Cana, La Romana and many other of their cities. I would never stay at La Hamaca again nor do I recommend it unless you don't mind being in a dingy place.

Giving one star cause there is no option to give zero.. and only writing this review to help others so they donāt make same mistake we made. Stay anywhere else. There are no highās, this place is the lowest of the low. We travel extensively and have never seen a property so dirty and rundown. No Covid protocols anywhere, forget masks there were not even simple hand sanitizers on the front desk counters. We booked through Air Canada Vacations and as advertised paid extra $200 per room for their so called Deluxe Room with priority check ins and in-room Wifi but as per the manager there is no deluxe room or in-room wifi, only wifi in the cramped lobby for a limited time and every guest is huddled together. Feels like you are staying at a homeless shelter. Buffet is a joke and the worst buffet you can think off. Clogged toilets, bugs in the room, smelly disgusting food, rude staff and manager, broken doors, broken furnitureā¦ We booked seven day trip but left after two nights, We just couldnāt take it anymore. Itās like a set of a circus gone wrong or a bad horror movie. Donāt spend your hard earned money here. I am never coming back here and booking my vacations through Air Canada for putting this POS hotel on their website.

My partner and I were looking for a resort close to Santo Domingo where we would be spending a few weeks.. We wanted just one night at an all inclusive on the beach. The drive or bus to Punta Cana was going to be 6 hours round trip and that was too much for one night.
Enter Be Live hotel. I booked our reservation same day( roughly 10am) via the hotel's direct website.
When we arrived we were greeted outside and ushered in to a line to wait for check-in. We waited about 35 minutes to get to the checkin desk and about another 30-40 minutes to get keys. The woman helping us couldn't find the reservation, and when she finally did she printed it out, had me sign the appropriate documents and then disappeared for seriously 15 minutes.
A lovely gentleman carried my partner's bag to our room on the 6th floor. The room was huge, and also a huge waste of space. The room we had looked like a tropical bates motel room. There were two beds of a very peculiar size. bigger than a twin but not quite a full/double (where did they even get these?)
The floor looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in months and we would later find out that both of beds had sand under the blankets.
When I took a shower the next morning i was joined by several spiders whom i promptly escorted down the drain.
There is a large walk inclosed that houses a safe deposit box from 1945 that apparently requires a key, and you have to pay for said key.
We were not informed about the beach towel card requirement and had to bribe the folks at the towel shack to give us beach towels.
A few good things, however. There is something to eat 24 hours a day, and the food at this resort is surprisingly good. We found the bartenders to be very attentive and pleasant. They also have a very nice beach. We had lunch after checkout at the Pelican restaurant on the water. This is not included in the price of the resort and can get a bit pricey but the food was good.
It had been raining pretty much the entire week prior (we stayed on a friday) so the pool was freezing in a polar bear plunge kind of way. So take note of that.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel, unless you really want cheap booze and wont be going to sleep.

Worst experience I have ever had considering this is an all inclusive resort. This hotel is completely miss marketed to consumers. Everything in this hotel is filthy, broken and disgusting. I would HIGHLEY recommend NOT booking a stay at this hotel because you will be very disappointed. The food and bar areas looked horrific.
Please look at my pictures below to see how horrible this stay was. Everything speaks for it self.
Also, please keep in mind once you arrive to this location they hit you with strange policies. Such as, not being able to cancel without being charged an additional Two days which is un heard of. If you loose your bracelet at the hotel they will charge you upwards to $70. They do not provide clean towels daily. We asked both days to the cleaning service to please bring us fresh towels. Everytime they were in other rooms cleaning NOT one person had additional to give us or drop off to the room. The phone in the room does not work so you canāt call anyone at guest services/front desk.
Every person working at the hotel is angry and defensive because there is clearly many un happy people staying here.

There should be internet in the hotel or you guys should make sure to make that there isnāt any more visible on the website. The beach towels need to be free and there should be more chairs on the beach. Also there should be more trash cans in the rooms. (: more people helping guests around since itās a really big place

Hotel was terrible, i understand we are in the middle of a pandemic but they were not even trying to please the guests i will not be returning. The rooms smelled of mildew, the bathtub was dirty. My fridge was broken. I changed my room three times and my rooms did as well. We paid for VIP service and was told they no longer offer it and was only offered a 10% discount which amounted to nothing. I can say the waiters are nice.

Worst hotel experience yet to date! Couldn't find our reservation, took 3 hours to get a room (was the wrong room) couldn't move us that night. Standard room bed was like sleeping on a box of rocks with paper sheets. No hot water the first day. No service. No wifi. Second day finally moved to the correct room which was the suite with the balcony. Better bed and bedding finally had hot water but no TV service. Food was horrendous! Same food breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had to leave the hotel to get different food which meant we spent ALOT of money. There's a 28% tax on everything so be prepared. Pictures online and at hotel are from the Punta Cana location so a lot of misleading things overall.

When I was there in November (2021), the nightclub was closed -- due to Covid restrictions; not sure if it's reopened yet or not. If it's open, the nightclub -- or discotheque as it's referred to in DR -- is adjacent to the hotel, as is the casino.
There are some bars/clubs on 'The Strip', but be very careful if you take that short walk from the hotel...don't take a lot of cash with you, and keep your pockets guarded; with the Hamaca Wristband, you're a target.
If you're looking for nightlife, you might have to take a ride to Santo Domingo -- probably a 30 minute drive without traffic.
Whatever you do, wherever you go, be careful!
You should not get married here if you want to enjoy it itās a dump and ruined my vacation any holiday inn is 10x better
Yes the mice and bugs itās a total dump, you gotta leave the gates of this place
Yes they do have day passes. You have two options call the hotel or call any travel agency to purchase one. Good luck
