We were in Bologna for an exhibition. We got more than we had expected. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. Compared to that you really get a lot. Due to our membership status we got an upgrade to a very nice suite. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful. Nature and calm all around. And still not far from Bologna....

The Holiday Inn San Lazzaro di Savena was better than what we had expected. The hotel was extremely clean, the rooms were large for Italian standards and modern, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. After a week of eating brioches and coffee for breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised to experience the buffet breakfast which was included...

We stayed here only one night, unfortunately ! I'm not usually a fan of chain hotels, but this one had all the best of Italy plus all the best of a first-class hotel. The hotel is out in the country about three miles east of the old Bologna city walls on the Via Emilia. At our time of year, the...

I've now stayed in this HI twice. Last year (2005) was just after the hotel had opened following a quite major refurb and new wing addition. The staff are very pleasant and helpful with excellent English. The hotel is well located on the main road between Bologna and Imola and i've used it during the San Marino GP weekends, but...

It's not a typical Holiday Inn (only franchised by Holiday Inn) as it is an up to date older building (contains a beautiful small chapel) connected with a new building (build about 2004). Eastside of Bologna (about 15km to city, public traffic seems to be not available sufficently, 20min to airport BLQ). We took it as a basis for exploring...

Stayed here for a night en route from Florence to Milan. Pretty nice for a random Holiday Inn in Italy. Italy is amazing that way, even the Holiday Inn's have nice Italian artwork in the rooms. This hotel is about 30 minutes from downtown Bologna, but everything in Bologna was booked or very expensive, so this was a good alternative.
