Detailed Reviews
+1
I spent two nights at Hostal Juli and I'm glad I decided to take a rest day in San Justo de la Vega instead of in Astorga. Not only was it cheaper, it was also more peaceful.
My double room with a private bathroom was on the second floor. It featured a real double bed, which was a nice change from the usual twin beds. The room was spacious, with a desk and a small balcony.
Wifi works well downstairs in the bar or the outside terrace, but the signal might not reach your room on the upper floor.
The staff were friendly and the food was very good. I had two breakfasts and two pilgrim dinners at the hostal and all my meals were tasty and offered great value. Drinks are also inexpensive, so I indulged in quite a few sangrias!
A very nice Camino stop for anyone wanting to stop before Astorga.

The room was very clean. The beds & bedding were comfortable. The shower felt great. The small balcony was a nice place to view the country side. The staff was friendly & helpful. The only negative was the dog barking ALL night long so we couldn't have our patio door open.

Not much else on this small hamlet but this hostal.
Rooms compact but complete.
Bedding with poorly fitted sheets and for a double bed small.
Better would be to have two singles.
Peregrinos menu del dia ok ish. The wine was plainly horrible.
Very noisy during Friday night as located above the bar.
Nothing else to do in town.
Better to move on to Astoria another 4 km

Very clean, warm, cozy and with a very spacious room.
The room has a terrace and pets are allowed.
The lady who runs the hostel is super friendly and attentive.
I don't have anything negative to add.

I think it's great that they let pets and smoke in, that's why there is an ashtray in the room, but then they will have to clean it, not finding the floor full of hair, bad smell, and the bedspread dirty, and it's not cheap at all.
